Seamus Coleman

Just scored there, lovely header.

I'm biased seeing as he played for my local team before Everton but I think he'd be a super young player to have here.

We were asked in the newbies, "who would you buy with £50m?" and I said him and Tim Cahill, plus a good keeper. He's a cracking player, but he'd have a time of it getting ahead of our incumbent FB's.

Tim Cahill is 32 later this year, and not exactly what Utd are looking for. But I liked Coleman every time I watched Everton, he has a fantastic attitude and he would be a good signing but we have enough RB's in Brown, O'Shea and Rafael.

He can play right wing too though. Obviously he would be more of a squad player, but I doubt he'd cost that much and I'd have him here in an instant.

This is why you don't manage United.

Well, it was a fecking hypothetical question, you bastards. And Cahill was the least expensive of the imaginary purchases.

Cahill would fecking walk into our midfield this season.

feck it, Christy Brown would walk into our midfield this season.

Now feck off :lol:

:lol: It's just in what world do they cost 50 million, I think the major qualm I have with it is you're pricing estimate - but seriously, if I ever want to sell anything on here - i'll give you first dibs...

"Is that an iPhone?! I'll give you 10 grand for it."

I'm fecking off now.

I'd quite like a break down of the figures here, to see how £50 million is being spunked :lol:

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that it may make me look even more of a muppet, your honour.

Can't see it happening. Good player but not what we need. Surely any money we do have could be better spent.

:lol::lol: That's hilarious.

Not sure if serious:confused::confused:

Tee hee I have just seen the post.

£10 mil for Cahill? You're one shrewd operator Badunk.

Just coz every fee for us gets mega-inflated, that's all.

IIRC, the thread was made as a result of the inflated Torres/Carroll transfers, so my inner muppet got the better of me.

A lot of internet forums and rumour mills and word of mouth gossip today spouting we are preparing an 8million bid this summer.

It would be a strange move. He's naturally a right back so he'd have to get past the Da Silvas to get that spot, which I'm not convinced he'll be good enough to do. If he plays right wing he has to get past Nani and Valencia, so again, I can't see it.

Well it would be fair to assume Valencia and Nani would start, look beyond that and i would say Obertan, Giggs and Bebe don't count... Park maybe?

Still an interesting cheap option, he has played on the wing for Everton most of the season.

Won't happen. He's not good enough.

Decent player for us to act as cover in both the right wing & right back positions, young as well. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we were showing interest in him.

The Mirror saying we are in very advanced stage with some OT insiders saying an outline agreement as been made.

The Mirror says it's around £15m. Not a chance. If they wouldn't sell Baines for near to £20m at his age then they'll want at least that for Coleman.

McDonnell is shite. He said back in November that the Baines deal was all but agreed. By nature things can change, but there's no way they would sell for that little. Any more than that is a colossal waste of money. Hopefully the idiot is gone by this stage anyway.

If we managed to get Coleman for 15m it would be robbery, no way that's true.

Hopefully it wouldn't spell the end for Rafael either. We need another RB, not a replacement one.

But Coleman is only a Paddy, not and England international.

Baines and Fellaini were our best players last year so we demanded big money.

Coleman and McCarthy have been our best this year IMO, so we'd demand big money too, but I doubt we will sell any of Coleman/Barkley/McCarthy/Stones.

If a player leaves to get more money (which I don't think would be needed this summer) then id put money on Mirallas.
