Fabregas has been good for 6 monts when he came to Chelsea and then went on a vacation on which he's still on. Kroos, I still dont get all the fuss about him. We could have bought Otamendi, but then again he had only one great season and he's a bit expensive.
We need a player or 2 still, that's true.

Fabregas has been average for about 8 months now. He cannot play as a CM in a two so he's effectively another Herrera.
 
Smoke screen? :lol: We're not gonna put in a bid as a smoke screen to sign a world class player, what do you got to screen? All clubs probably know about Griezman et al.
 
If this was happening last summer, I'd say it was a smokescreen for Wanyama.

Maybe there were issues with both so we have signed other quality players since.

You don't know what's going on, just because it doesn't look like it's going to happen. So "despair" with Van Gaal if the window shuts and we have nobody.

I didnt see a fuss then, dont see it now. Fabregas has been MIA since January. Sure it would be nice to get them then but they're not all that imo.
 
We should stop this hunt for a RW this summer, right now the options available are dodgy at best.

Same goes for striker.
 
Feels very Valencia 09'.

Let's hope we nip it in the bud after 3 seasons.

Listen, you need to start realising that football's changed and Mane is exactly the sort of direct, pacey player who is thriving now. You are probably the sort of fan that still thinks Rooney's a fantastic player because he "works his socks off".
 
I'm not a fan of this signing, he just seems like a headless chicken most of the time.

Kroos is a senstaional player just not if you use him like Ancelotti as the defensive midfielder in a midfield 3, he is absolutely wasted there but given the fact that they also have Isco and James to play the more attacking roles I can understand why he played the most defensive role, still he is wasted in this position.
 
Genuinely not bothered we didnt sign kroos or fabregas. Our current midfield is stronger than what it had been with these 2.

It's hard to tell who's bullshitting, but it's either us or them obviously, unless the media have totally made it up, but it seems unlikely if it has made it on to the BBC.

Who has more reason to mislead the media at this point? Lots here predict it is a smokescreen, but it seems a little late in the window for that, unless something has been developing in the background. Southampton may also want to deny receiving a bid in an attempt to prevent Mane from being unsettled.

The year he made the team of the season he scored 5 goals. The year he won the player of the season for Manchester United he scored 4. When he was rated it was not because of goals. It was his dribbling, crossing and workrate. Finishing ability is the only thing Sane has over Valencia when he was at Wigan.

If they think by making United's bid public they can get more then why not, they win either way by getting a large/larger fee or United will deny all interest and he'll stay giving them a good player until at least January.

Although Mane wouldn't have been on my list of potential signings at the beginning of the window I feel he could add a lot to the side and surprise quite a few. I have to be honest and say I was never overly keen on Pedro and feel a more success hungry player would do us good.

He seems quite a dangerous player, I'd be pleased if we can sign him (or Draxler/Reus...do it Woody.)

He still gives his all for this club which is alot more than some more talented individuals. You should watch George Best's final season for us that was a great example of how mighty can fall. Lets cut Valencia a break for filling in when needed and never speaking out hey!

I totally agree, effort and persistence has never been questioned.. I think he basically just got 'found out' so to speak. The oppositions left back has him in his pocket most games.
