I still feel in our system with one striker he would have been good.
Hope LvG knows what he is doing as Rooney won't be even close to being enough for us next season. He is a good way behind Europe's top strikers.

Has this been confirmed?

Indeed. You don't keep 31 year old high earners on the bench. It's ludicrous business practice.
Plus the fact that he was supposedly going to earn a big bonus if he saw out his contract.

this would be the best summer ever if we sold him, that would also mean we are in for some striker..

He can do MUCH better than Fenerbahce. Lower the wages RVP and have a great end.
Spending your last few years of a footballer in Istanbul while getting paid a lot of money doesn't seem so bad to me.

He has 1 PL title and 0 CL titles to show for his entire career. A guy like him is pretty much guaranteed to become a pundit once he retires so money won't ever be a problem.

Great player. Was incredible in our last title.

Having said that, it's the right time to sell him, and we have to get an adequate replacement.

Feck me LVG is not messing around
Last year it was 'medical for you, you and you too' now it's 'Turkey for you, you and you too'. Otherwise it's sad how his career is ending with us but it's understandable that he wants to play regularly and we need to trim the wage bill and possibly create space for a younger player on the up.

I wouldn't sell him, personally. Especially with amount of prospective games we face.

We're signing a striker this week if he does fly to Turkey tomorrow. I can't see us going on tour with only Rooney and Wilson as strikers.

We could take Will Keane again. Van Gaal took him to America last summer. And Nick Powell is still on our books.

Anyway I hope we sell RvP. His performances over the last two years don't even come close to justifying his wages.

I'm not particularly excited about RVP's departure, I'm just happy we are now RUTHLESS in the transfer window.

Whoever we bring in to replace him, it's gonna be an out-of-the-blue type signing, since we haven't been credibly linked with a single top striker as far as I can tell.

And to think some were worried that LVG would never drop him due to the Dutch connection thing.

Tbf he also has 2 trophies which noone else apart from Mata in our squad has: UEFA Cup and FA Cup. After winning the PL with us and playing a huge part in our title win all he lacks is a CL trophy, but that's a bit of a gamble and something lots of great players have never won.

By the looks of the transfers being made and heavily linked with I don't think we will go for a big name. We're aiming at players with more potential and less reputation who would fit right to what we need. I wont be surprised if we go for Lacazette ie a young striker who has great potential but wouldn't mind to act as Rooney's cover for the time being

Yes he does but when he hangs up his boot, its the PL titles and the CLs that he and others will count. Juve for instance would have been a great option before they signed Mandzukic. Titles to be won there.

Don't even think about Muller. That's like hoping your parents will buy you a ferrari for your 18th.

I agree with devilish and others that Lacazette would be a smart signing if we sell both RvP and Hernandez.

That's been my preference for awhile. It's exactly what we need. Someone good enough to to take over from Rooney as the main striker in the near future.

I think that Juve would be scared of by his salary. Also it wouldn't be a nice move for him at all. Its never advisable for a 31 year old striker to move to another top league especially with a team whose already got Dybala, Llorente and Morata there

I agree. I have a feeling that the big money will be spend in defense this time round ie by bringing a leader or two. The rest of the dosh will be spread out wisely to add quality in areas we need (GK, RB, DM, FWD)

The 12m that is being touted about is pretty decent for us. Though i suspect some forgot to use a decimal..

Would have liked Dybala as a replacement but would also be happy with Lacazette

Would RVP agree to a transfer like this? I highly doubt it.

I wouldn't be so surprised. He's probably looked at Sneijder and seen he's earning good cash, enjoying his football and has probably extended his international career by a few years.

If we sign Darmian, Schneiderlin then Muller this place will explode.

Falcao, RVP & Nani off means - £700k per week

Why are people so anal about Muller not leaving Bayern?? Its a football club not Fort Knox ffs

Muller is extremely loyal, we're talking of Bayern and at the moment they are winning more stuff then we do. It would be like Inter managing to sign Scholes soon after the treble

He would have to take a pay cut, that's why he's ending up in Turkey. Llorente wouldnt be a threat to RVP btw and Dybala and Morata are versatile enough. Juve play 2 strikers anyways. All pointless now as they signed Mandzukic

Muller isn't even at his best as the main centre forward is he? Doesn't really make sense.
