Why are people so anal about Muller not leaving Bayern?? Its a football club not Fort Knox ffs

I'd have him down as the second most ungettable player in world football atm. Behind Messi.

EDIT: To answer your why. Not just because of his ability as a footballer. Its a lot of things, what he means to the club and their fans. He is Mr Bayern Munich, the face of their club. Him being a ridiculously good footballer is obviously a reason. Bayern being a very rich club that doesnt need the money and would never be able to replace him regardless of how much we pay would be another reason. Muller himself being a local lad and his strong bond with the club is another one.

€65 Million euros for Muller would tempt Bayern I think

Why? they are loaded, Bayern fans would go crazy if there was even a hint of him going, they are miffed enough with the prospect of Schweinstegier leaving.

Just hope we don't chase the ungettable for too long.

No it wouldnt. Muller isnt a guaranteed starter and he has history with LVG. Its not as simple as that. Kroos left didnt he?

Hence why I mentioned Scholes. He may be the most talent of class 92 but back than SAF wasn't 100 percent sure he can cut it in CM. Hence why he spent ridiculous amounts of money for JSV

If we sign Darmian, Schneiderlin then Muller this place will explode.

Falcao, RVP & Nani off means - £700k per week

Add to that Fletcher, and Anderson from the January window, and likely Evans, and Rafael from this window to come, we could be looking at the thick end of £1 million a week off the books.

Depay is maybe on £100 K, and Darmain £40 K, that leaves about £860 K p/w to go, could be an interesting few weeks ahead.

For someone who isnt a guaranteed starter for Bayern?

Since when is Muller not a guaranteed starter? Check his stats for last season.

Quoting because of the edit.

Yes, but the difference is Muller can be deployed as a main or secondary striker.
Difference between someone who can be deployed as one and someone who is one. I'm actually not sure. From what I know he doesn't usually play right up top and it isn't his natural role at bayern. If that's incorrect than fair enough but if it is then I wouldn't like us to pay big money and play him out of his best position.

He scores goals does it matter if he is a true CF?
Yes it does. Ronaldo scores goals but do Madrid play with James Rodriguez upfront?

Muller isn't even at his best as the main centre forward is he? Doesn't really make sense.

He's at his best as an attacker. Play him anywhere around the box and he's deadly when it comes to finishing or creating chances. Superb header of the ball too.

feck Bayern fans...if we bid enough to bring Muller to the table theres a chance imo

It would have to be astronomical, like a world record fee, we won't do it.

I suppose the only glimmer would be trading Di Maria, but i'd rather we didn't.

Hmm Jamie Carraghers argument against Scholes

I am not saying that he was going to be sold I am saying that SAF considered moving Scholes back upfront ie his natural role. I can be accused of criticising alot of United players (the crock twins, OShit, Wes, Phil Nev) but not Scholes. In my opinion he was more effective than Zidane

I reckon LVG will play him behind the main striker (Rooney) which isn't too bad seeing as he can get the goals from there, you are comparing him (position wise) to 2 different players - James and Memphis, Muller unlike both of them can actually play as a striker, we already have Rooney (who also happens to be our captain and can play as a main striker) so signing Muller to compliment him in a role he is used to playing isn't a bad idea at all ( i know you didnt say it was a bad idea).

Higuain is the only other option upfront (proven) and we dont seem to be in for him, but you never know.

Yeah he's an excellent player but we've already got Di Maria who could possibly be a winger next season, Depay bought for 25 million for the left forward/left winger position, mata as another second striker or wide attacker. And Rooney on huge wages as our main striker. What's the point in muller exactly? Can't be buying players for the heck of it. If it's as a centre forward then I'm questioning whether that's his best position because we'd be daft to spend 80 million or some absurd fee on a player if he usually plays as a wide forward or second striker.

Also I'm not sure he's actually worth those type of numbers.

I was mentioning them to prove a point.

Second striker? The we'd have to move to a two man midfield which isn't lvg's preferable formation.

Turkish league titles. No one, not even EVP himself would give a feck once he's gone.

Don't agree. The Fener fans will treat a title winning team like some sort of diety, the celebrations in Turkey are insane. I am sure that winning any title means a lot to players. Look at the PSV celebrations after they won their title. I am sure that those player will always treasure those memories.

We wouldnt play him out wide in the hypothetical scenario that we get him. Just play him behind Rooney or in place of Rooney if Rooney goes through a shit period. At a club like ours, no one's place should be guaranteed. Muller really is someone you simply buy if he can be, feck everything else :D

This is smart, shrewd business by Woodward. RVP's wages are stupidly high, especially for a player who won't be a regular starter and clearly isn't the player he used to be. It will be good to get him off the books.

I just hope we have an adequate replacement lined up.

I am not denying any of that. Once he retires though and his career is looked back upon, you think titles there would be something that'd be considered great? Its the big 4 leagues that matter really.

Yup, that is the only way this could ever happen.

It is a plus certainly but it is also a minus since we know LvG will be here for just 1 more season after 2015/2016. Basically he wouldn't even be here during the whole duration of Muller's contract.

Without Falcao and RVP, sure we're not losing a massive amount of goals - but we are losing experience and 2 players who can play a role up front. As I've said before, I think it would be bizarre to part company with him unless we are bringing in adequate replacement(s). It's glaringly obvious we need a forward either way, but surely letting another go means bringing one in..

I don't think he's that good to be honest.

And, we're basically talking about a 4411, right now? Seems odd to play that with the possession football were moving towards right now, and more like one of fergie's ideas, with stretching the play and many forwards on the pitch together.

Was RVP in any of the training pics released so far?

If we sell Robin then you would think we've had positive noises from somewhere. It would be a shame to lose his quality (as well as Nani) but who knows what our club have planned. Some talk about loaning out Wilson - I don't think we will. He has two years on Kane and will get plenty of games. It's possible Hernandez could get given a chance as he may have impressed LVG at Madrid.
