Add to that Fletcher, and Anderson from the January window, and likely Evans, and Rafael from this window to come, we could be looking at the thick end of £1 million a week off the books.

Depay is maybe on £100 K, and Darmain £40 K, that leaves about £860 K p/w to go, could be an interesting few weeks ahead.

Mammoth Muller bid incoming

Fenerbache???? RVP come on man, you should be able to do better than that! What the hell is going on in this crazy world.

Turkey is the new go-to destination.

Can't see why not especially for players that are on a bit of a decline. Nice weather, they pay good money ( just 15% tax so even a lower wage can equal higher actual pay) and relatively easy access to european football.

He virtually single handedly won us our 20th league title and arguably one of the most important titles in recent history.

Best of luck in Turkey Robin.

Sky Sports reporting that he's agreed terms. I really hope we're in the market to replace him. We've weakened the team significantly with his departure.

And they treat you like a god

If RVP is leaving then it surely tells us we have a forward that has agreed to sign or a deal is at least nearly done?

I honestly can't see LVG letting RVP go unless he had something lined up. Looking at our striking options now its Rooney, Wilson and an injured Chiccarito. So yeah, we definitely have something agreed.

Thanks for the memories Robin. A truly class act on and off the field, and at least we got ONE amazing season from him. It's a real shame we didn't get him earlier in his career, but i'm thankful I got see him play for United.

All these wages off the bill? Locked in a stalemate with Real Madrid over De Gea? Woody willing to put his money where his mouth is?

Ronnie is coming home lads!

What a player. Should have joined us a few years earlier.

That VP-Falcao-Rooney triple looked like pure fantasy footy, but in reality was horrible.

Looking forward to seeing if there's anything doing striker wise.

I'm realistic, not a dreamer, but we cannot possibly be going into a season with just Rooney, nowhere near ready Wilson, and clearly not wanted Chico!

In some respects it's sad if we lose Robin as he's not a numpty unlike most footballers. However, he would leave with a champions medal and winning it in Sir Alex's final season must have been special.

I really hope this is the case, but I find it hard to imagine who we would have secretly agreed a deal for.I'm worried that we'll stick with Rooney,Wilson and Hernandez.

Just a shame he never won the Champions League. On second thought, maybe he's moving to Turkey to exact revenge on that c*nt ref...

Showed absolutely nothing last season that made me think we'd regret selling him now. I'd much rather have him gone than give LVG the temptation to play him and Rooney up top together again. Thanks for 20 and good luck in Turkey.

Think it's a big mistake selling RVP :(
He's over 30 (32 in a month), earning 250k+ a week, and isn't a starter. I think it's an excellent move to sell him, would have given him away on a free if no one wanted to buy. Frees up money to be used elsewhere for the long-term future of the club.

It makes sense to sell him when you look at the figures but if he was on a lesser wage he'd still be sticking around for a season or two.

Can't even begin to imagine what this place will be like if he knocks us out of the Champions League before we even get to the group stage.

Rooney, Depay, Di Maria, Fellaini, Wilson, Januzaj even Mata can all play in forward attracting positions...so while I do think United will bring in another forward I don't think it is as thin up top as it looks.

Defo, with him leaving I've a feeling we have a worldy lined up.

I mean, Barca have 3 world class forwards in their team. Messi, Suarez & Neymar
Bayern fit in 3 forwards to their team, Robben, Lewandowski & Mueller (possibly soon to us??)
Real even have Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.

United will follow in a similar vain I reckon.

No longer fast enough to translate his talent into effective performances in the PL - should absolutely tear Turkey to pieces with Nani. Good luck to him.

Hopefully we'll pick up the rapid forward we needed last season to get behind defences and force them to drop deeper.

Thanks for number 20 robin, what a player he was that year.

A bit sad him leaving, but the time is right.
