Actually feel quite sad that Robin is going. When fit he's still lethal, could of got another year out him.

We def need another striker now

It has been all too quiet on the striker speculation in terms of players coming in. My pick would be Lacazette would add speed ruthlessness in front of goal that we have been lacking for a while. I feel Cavani would be heavily distracted with his fathers current situation, understandably so.

The scenes when he arrives in Istanbul, they will celebrate him like a god.

On another note, people talking about Müller and Kane as replacement are mental. Will not happen this year.

And the incident.

It's a tricky one, would a top striker want to play second fiddle to Rooney and vice versa? Unless we go for someone who can play across a front three, hence the alleged interest in Muller. Who know's? But it's going to be interesting finding out.

Muller is an excellent passer. Him playing as the AM is not going to come in the way of a 4-2-3-1 in any way.
Excellent seems excessive. He's intelligent. He's not someone who plays defence splitting passes. He's not a number 10 for me. An attacker with good all round play.

If we sign Darmian, Schneiderlin then Muller this place will explode.

Falcao, RVP & Nani off means - £700k per week

No way they were on £700k a week combined. Van Persie was no more than £200k and Falcao would have been around the same, Nani I'd have expected to be on around £80k. Even if we went adventurous and added extra £20k to each of them it'd still be some way off £700k a week.

I thought it was bullshit at the time, but Falcao was reportedly was on £300k p/w when got him.

I thought Nani's most recent contract renewal put him in excess of £120k p/w?

We're going to regret selling RVP no chance that we'll be replacing him with anyone better

Im still really surprised that RvP would be leaving - I know he didnt have the best season but I think he still has a lot to offer.

More importantly he was a LvG favourite and captain for the Dutch national team so it is strange to see him discarded so easily.

Defo, with him leaving I've a feeling we have a worldy lined up.

I mean, Barca have 3 world class forwards in their team. Messi, Suarez & Neymar
Bayern fit in 3 forwards to their team, Robben, Lewandowski & Mueller (possibly soon to us??)
Real even have Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.

United will follow in a similar vain I reckon.

really hope you're right mate!
not just for sheer sense, but for the sheer muppetastic nature of it.
it was brilliant when Di Maria and Falcao were announced.

although it didn't obviously quite work out so great!

From what I read, RVP was on 220k/week, Falcao on 250k/week and Nani on 120k/week.

Obviously it might not be true. Media doesn't have players contracts to see.

Can't even begin to imagine what this place will be like if he knocks us out of the Champions League before we even get to the group stage.

the tiny odds of drawing them and then losing to them would be plain ridiculous

Di Maria will in time, Falcao was just a disaster but it was worth the risk.

Competition is always healthy, it doesn't effect the other big three clubs I mentioned. They seem to be in relative harmony (Bale aside possibly?).

You dont know that he could be here longer

He could, but he said several times that this would be the last job he ever takes and that he promised his wife he will retire afterwards. Sounds like what another manager said, but i really don't see LVG extending his contract for more than 1 year.

Thing is that his contract is way too high for us to leave him on the bench and play him in like 15 - 20 games during the season.

We are freeing finances and looking to rebuild and refresh the squad. Seems like LVG will do what is necessary despite of who the involved players are.

Only the people involved are going to know the exact figures but I am pretty sure the three of them combined would have been near the 600k mark.

Whatever the case we are dropping that wage budget significantly which is good.

Falcao wage was 14m€ per year (which currently equate to 193k/week), and I read the same numbers than yours for RVP and Nani.

Just heard on radio that its confirmed. We might get Fenerbahce in the CL qualifier? Would be awful if RVP or Nani did a job on us.

I have always liked van Persie and he was the reason we won the 20th title along with Carrick, it is the right time he goes though.

Rooney is next if he has another season like the last one.

When Sky Sports announced he's getting medical at Carrington we probably knew we're gonna get that trophy back at some point. Seeing him training with Rooney in in one team was something out of fantasy football.

Outscored Suarez and then we've outscored City with 20 goals of difference. The last masterstroke from SAF, Eric Cantona would be proud of that kind of a Goodbye...

Well, they need to negotiate an earlier round - could be quite difficult as they could face the likes of Ajax, CSKA or Shakhtar - but if they go through then yes, we could face them.

We play 4-3-3, there's no behind the striker. It's either number 9 or central midfield like we've seen last season when RVP played up top.

Then he will move to CM. Not my suggestion, just a feeling. I cant see him getting dropped ruthlessly, he offers a lot on the pitch.
