Smacks of the row over wanting the teacher to remove the anti-Muslim cartoons from his high school class curriculum. Difficult to fully get the point without them.
It has unfortunately always been bullshit. The only people who can say 'never again' and mean anything by it are the jewish Israelis, who set up a state with significant means of self-defense. But as for the WW2 allies, none of them was at war with Germany over the holocaust, they were at war because of Germany's invasions of Poland, France and the USSR.'Never again'

No its for actual genocide that is sufficient to kick Russia out of the UN.Hmmm. The penny dropped on me yesterday that the crematoriums might not have been for their soldiers after all.

feck me this is unbelievable in 2022.
Same thoughts were being posted on Reddit. Very grim and ominous.Hmmm. The penny dropped on me yesterday that the crematoriums might not have been for their soldiers after all.
From Mariupol City Council (the source of the earlier claim):
Tens of thousands murdered and then cremated, it is feared.

Or in their own portable hells for that matter.I'm lost for words, really.
All Putinists supporting this shit can burn in hell.
and, I’ll bet no one is held to account for it.From Mariupol City Council (the source of the earlier claim):

Will it make any difference to Russia if they’re suspended/ kicked out of the UN?The 193-member UN General Assembly will vote on Thursday whether to suspend Russia from the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council.
Reuters reports that diplomats have said that the US is pushing for the vote.
A two-thirds majority of voting General Assembly members in New York can suspend a country for committing gross and systematic violations of human rights. Russia is in its second year of a three-year term on the 47-member Human Rights Council.
No, it won't. In any case, it is them getting suspended out of UN Human Rights Council, not UN. There is no mechanism to suspend a security council member (who can veto anything).and, I’ll bet no one is held to account for it.

In an interview shortly after her speech, Thomas-Greenfield told NPR's Michel Martin that Russia should be held to a higher standard as a permanent member of the Security Council, and yet "has done everything they can to, in my view, damage the international order and to compromise the U.N. values; compromise the Human Rights Council." She vowed to hold them accountable, including through a suspension from the council.
"It's more than symbolic, and it does have force because it continues what we have started, that is to isolate Russia and call them out for what they are doing," she said. "They have a narrative that what they are doing is normal. This is not normal. It is not acceptable, and they will hear from the entire world that we will not continue to allow their misinformation, their propaganda, to be used on a U.N. platform."
I’m not trying to justify it. It’s terrible, albeit I’m not sure I can swear that if I were a Ukrainian solider I wouldn’t react to what this invading force have done in my peaceful country.
What I am suggesting though is that people in general, and much of the media, are blowing it out of proportion. You can make a list of every single possible war crime that has photographic, audio or video evidence from this war, and 99% of them will be from the Russian side.
Where is this naivety coming from to expect the Ukrainians to win this war whilst having their armed forces committing zero possibly documented war crimes? People are setting them an impossible standard that they will inevitably fail to meet.
The Ukrainian leadership is tackling the PR side of it as well as they possibly can. They are acknowledging the evidence, insisting that their troops follow the rules of war, and promising to investigate.
Which army in a war of this size has an unblemished record with no documented possible war crimes? It is not going to happen. Humans do bad things, especially when provoked. I have zero expectation of the Ukrainian side coming out of this war with zero evidence of possible war crimes against them, because no “good guys” in any war of this scale will have such an unblemished record. Crimes happen in societies, even in the most Westernised and civilised where crime rates are lowest. It's an impossible ask to not commit war crimes? Really?
It's pure whataboutery to say yeah but Russia are doing more war crimes. The justifications used in the last few pages just demonstrates how easily people rationalise these things when they want to. It's the same flawed mindset that the Russians foolish enough to support the war fall into.
Jesus, the pictures coming out of Kramatorsk. They just did a missile attack at the station where everyone is attempting to heed Ukrainian advice to flee west from the Ukrainian-controlled areas of the Donbas. Looks like dozens dead amongst their suitcases.
To put it into perspective @Smores, there’s more Ukrainian civilians dead in one photo here, than Russians being shot or killed in captivity by Ukrainians in ALL the gonzo videos we have seen throughout the war.
I won’t direct link, but check @GirkinGirkin’s latest tweets or any Ukrainian journalist as they are now reporting on it.

Your argument appears to be along the lines of that every war crime should be equally condemned regardless of the side who committed it. Practice what you preach. Keep up the same energy for every single bit of photographic, audio or video evidence for war crimes in this war and you’ll soon put this into perspective.
Russian war crimes are uncountable and incessant at this stage. All you can do is report and point at scenes where hundreds have been committed in one locale. Trying to balance up every Russian war crime, or even every hundredth Russian war crime, with one Ukrainian one is false balance.
