Interesting to see former CIA officials give their comment:
I hope no one asks Liz Truss her opinion on whether this is an invasion or incursion.
Interesting to see former CIA officials give their comment:
In Lithuania we have built the LNG infrastructure and bought a terminal back in 2014 at a large cost to the tax payer mind you, but we have become completely independent energy wise from Russian threats (I think we still buy it there as it’s cheaper but Russia can no longer use it as a leverage). In Baltics we know all too well what Russia is all about to be as naive as Germans. This plus a total embargo should happen.
But then I'll freeze to death here in Germany cause Merkel in her infinite wisdom decided to close all nuclear plants and be totally dependent on Russia for energy.
They have B option. They can/will buy gas from US. But i read that it will cost Germany to 5 times more than gas from Russia. Not to mention about their investment in north pipeline. This plus a total embargo should happen.

You have to pay for the stupidity as always. They have B option. They can/will buy gas from US. But i read that it will cost Germany to 5 times more than gas from Russia. Not to mention about their investment in north pipeline.
From all Europe, Germany will be hit the most.
There are always B options. But B options are extremely painful to be used in practice. They have B option. They can/will buy gas from US. But i read that it will cost Germany to 5 times more than gas from Russia. Not to mention about their investment in north pipeline.

NoI'm not a very political person - but is there any sense of "American and British media" are making things up or making it worse than it is or something?
escalation upon escalation. There is only one end to this.
If this escalates, I can simply see no way in which that final is held on Russian soil. For a moment forget UEFA's moral compass: How in the world would you be able to hold an event with tens of thousands of fans from NATO countries attending?Never change UEFA, never. Fu** you and your non existing moral compass.
Waiting for the trolls to start rationalising how Ukraine is not actually a country.
As per usual the same people will move into their default positions, as the culture war continues.Waiting for the trolls to start rationalising how Ukraine is not actually a country.
Go read posts from yesterday.Waiting for the trolls to start rationalising how Ukraine is not actually a country.
They played the video of this nutter in the Duma
What the heck. This shit is actually happening?!?!
That’s just nonsense. First of all Zelenskyi offered countless times that he’s willing to meet with Putin directly to discuss the matters but Russia wants none of that diplomacy you’re suggesting where Ukraine stands on its own without a Russian puppet in charge. Secondly, the president has been elected to represent the views of the population at large which voted him in, anyone who would try pivoting back to Russia wouldn’t survive a day in the office. Basically, what you’re saying is feck the will of people because your neighbor is Russia. This shows how important is to have capable ruler and Zelenskiy is not that. Diplomacy is art. Ukraine have specific geographical position. As i keep saying, geopolitics doesn't work by the rules what is right or wrong. They should have balanced better between Russia and EU and be aware what Russia can do to them. Yes, i know and i repeat, on paper "they can do whatever they want" but in reality that doesn't go like that. Orange revolution fecked them up. That is where their fall starts and that is where they said; "feck off Russia, we want to be part of EU" which was red flag for Putin.
To avoid "angry" replies. Again i repeat, it was 100% their right to turn to west but it was wrong move.
Jumping a few steps here surely! It's underway mate, there are Russia troops in sovereign Ukrainian territory. They've signed an agreement that Russia can build bases in the "separatist" regions and Lavrov has confirmed that Russia does not recognise Ukrainian sovereignty. The only part left is taking the capital.
In other words, the pathetic Ukrainian slugs should be thankful for Putin’s loving foot on their throat. With all due respect, this comment really suggests you have a misunderstanding about recent Ukrainian elections. The only people stoking anti-Russian sentiment and pushing Ukraine further and further away from Russia is Putin himself. This shows how important is to have capable ruler and Zelenskiy is not that. Diplomacy is art. Ukraine have specific geographical position. As i keep saying, geopolitics doesn't work by the rules what is right or wrong. The last guy that tried to do that literally sparked riots in Ukraine and got exciled to Russia. This shows how important is to have capable ruler and Zelenskiy is not that. Diplomacy is art. Okay then maybe you weren't skipping a few steps.
"Who cares if Russia rejects the sovereignty of Ukraine...did you know the US invaded Iraq"
I think I saw something about an announcement in Parliament?Any news on possible sanctions?
It's never been open. If Russia somehow ends up with all of Ukraine they don't need it anymore either. Why bypass your own region!?If they are indeed shutting it down, it is a serious blow to Russia's economy. They will have a miniscule stock market quite soon. Every penny spent on further war against Ukraine will bleed their budget.

Yeah this is solely on Putin - he’s clearly been planning it for years. He’s getting old, probably isn’t as sharp as he once was and knows the dependence on Russian LNG isn’t going to last forever. That’s why it’s so worrying, it’s not like he’ll get any opposition internally as you would in a normal country, so it’s basically a slightly potty old bloke with nothing to lose going for a land grab. That’s just nonsense.
