I think this pic sums it up quite well.
Fair play, fair play. It's good to know there is at least, a neutral view on the West in that region.
The West has been too unfriendly with the Middle East and the East for too long now. And I think this war is the start of something bigger.
For the future, we certainly need to change our approach to diplomacy. Sanctioning more than half the world isn't going to cut it anymore.
Its good to know, trust me. Russia/China alone is bad enough.
they were doomed from the start. i’m disappointed with how little support they seem to have been given. i did have the slight hope that pieces were being moved behind the scenes to catch russia unawares but then i remembered who is in power and realised how fecking stupid i was to think it in the first plac.
at least ukraine has the thoughts and prayers of our brave leaders, which will comfort them greatly, no doubt.
"War is hell" but let's all watch videos and celebrate stories of people dying like 14 year olds watching a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare stream.

What an awesome thing to do.We are going to have massive influx of Ukrainians here now, the queue at the border is 20 km already. Will probably volunteer to give my spare apartment as a temporary place to some, could probably take 6-8 of them at a time.
I have a cottage in cz that will let some of my colleagues use. They are currently on route in car from Ukraine to safety of czech Republic. Well mother and 2 year son are, and she is expecting again. Husband had to stay behind. She has a friend with her. She can stay there for free. I will get the some groceries. Least I can fdcking doWarms my heart reading this. Bless you mate. All of this just feels so surreal and one feels helpless or even a little useless watching it unfold from the UK.
Agree #mods please ensure no Russian proganda is allowed in herePlease stop posting any statements from Russian gov officials/journalists it only feeds into their misinformation field and propaganda tactics.

Isn't looking good for Ukraine. They fought so hard, but ultimately I don't see how they can stop such a huge influx of tanks, planes, rockets... endless soldiers.
Their people are so brave the fact heavy armour is already approaching the capital shows this will be over by the weekend IMO.
What I don't understand is why Civilians are still driving around the city like everything is normal? Just look at what happened with the tank running over the car.
I responded to your question.
Ukraine has been wanting to join NATO for years. It became more realistic last year, I think. Why didn't NATO immediately accept or reject the proposal? Now Ukraine is left to defend for itself. This just seem a little off to me. And I'm very emotional because my buddies are being killed in Ukraine.
Doing what you can to help.
How is the mood in Poland about Russia invading Ukraine?
People are failing to understand that Ukraine had a test run for this in 2013-14 with the Euromaidan protests. People realised then how far they were willing to go to keep Ukraine independent. It's nothing do with propaganda about it being "great to die for your country". That stance with the occupation in Crimea and war in Donbas has only hardened over 8 years. You can see how easy it is to convince people how noble and great it is to die for their country.
There would be slightly stronger sanctions but that's about it, in all likelihood. So do Biden, Macron and Co pull their finger out when Putin makes a move on Estonia or Poland?

Isn't the main issue with that is that it hurts them too - I'm not saying we all shouldn't take a hit ourselves and do what we can to help stop it but I imagine they're thinking thats last stops because people around the world won't be happy with higher costs and no doubt that will lead to some people wanting military action over having to pay x amount extra for things
Also it's useful for the West to have more things available. If they blow their load now on sanctions they have nothing left except military or just waiting and watch
Thanks for looking into itFrom what I can tell after looking into it after a discussion on here, Ukraine having disputed territories in Crimea and Donbas probably ruled them out from being eligible to join NATO. Not sure what they would have had to do to resolve that situation but I imagine they would have had to either get Russia to agree to withdrawal from those regions or formally cede any claim of sovereignty to the land. The former would have been unlikely and the latter unthinkable for Ukraine.
Of course they would, both are members of NATO, it's why Putin wouldn't dare.So do Biden, Macron and Co pull their finger out when Putin makes a move on Estonia or Poland?

Oh feck off.Ya I agree with this totally, unfortunately I suspect a bit of a sinister ploy by the UKR government, they want to invite atrocities on the UKR population to try and force the West to intervene more significantly in some way. Hope I'm wrong though but a lot of the messages coming out of UKR on social media and in remarks by Zelensky give some credence to this theory.
Same here with the fuel, massive queues for it. Wife went shopping yesterday and even thought she bought almost nothing it cost 90 zloty, so either that shop raised their prices in response or something dodgy happened. We are in shock. Over the last 10 years we have seen a significant influx of Ukrainians into the country so basically all of us have multiple Ukrainian friends, work with Ukrainians, have met some virtually every day. We organized Euro 2012 together 10 years ago. They all have families in Ukraine, siblings, parents, other relatives. I'm trying to get in touch with everyone I know to see if they need any help, and the stories I'm hearing are just terrible. I know there have been wars around the world forever, but nothing has hit home like this before due to how close we are with Ukrainians, probably more so than any other European nation.
There is a fair share of morons who are not on their side in this (we've seen a lot of likely Russia-driven misinformation for the last few weeks, and years to be fair) but the majority are really trying to be helpful and prepare for the influx of people from across the border.
Also there's plenty of fear that Poland will be next, which is not really warranted in my view, but will still cause plenty of chaos. E.g. we had 50-car long queues for fuel yesterday because people thought we'd run out of reserves. There will be more and more of this.
@mods ban him not my friend @TMDainesOh feck off.

We don't drive so haven't seen the gas prices, people posted videos all over facebook about the lines though. Had someone even asking where the bomb shelters are on spotted, just in case.Nah prices have been crazy for a while. Gas prices went up though.
