Mudoch shockingly being a cnut

I swear we can and should adapt the old song by replacing Malcolm Glazer with Rupert Murdoch in the lyrics. The world would be a far better place without that cnut.

As for Tucker Carlson, he deserves to be insulted and spat at wherever he goes.

i’m amazed and appalled in equal measures that something like this can still happen today. i really don’t understand how war is still gloried or pursued with how accessible the annals of history to the majority of the planet. this kind of thing on the shoulders of every small minded bigot and nationalist. on every one who still glorifies the world wars. on everyone who continues to vote for parties and politicians that want to segregate and divide people. on people that are happy to let large chunks of the population fail as they want someone to serve them a starbucks for feck all money whilst they rake in shareholder profits. russia is just a fox news or gb news on a national scale and it’s amazing how many people look at that and go “yeah, i fancy some of that, that farage talks a lot of sense.”

this is a symptom of how far we’ve fallen as race. we’ve managed to take all the benefits of advancing as a species and just fecked it all up.

the elite will move chess pieces around a board to make sure they profit from all this, the people will pay the real cost, as always, many, the highest one imaginable.

i’m just lucky that i’m currently miles away from the conflict and i have the daily mail to report on the real issues, like how much petrol prices will rise now or how many custard creams i won’t be able to buy now the heating bill has gone up. then i’ll have the ft to report bp and shell’s record profits over the next quarter. but i guess anything is better than publishing the pictures of the dead children at the heart of this war.

it’s all so tiring and so predictable and feck each and everyone responsible for this. this is bigger than russia v ukraine, this is on people who aren’t able to see that this kind of thing is always inevitable with how they think and how they act.
Nobel Prize worthy this. Well done.

It makes me sick to be honest

Ukraine were a friend

they wanted too Join NATO, NATO said yeh sure ok

Russia stepped in and said no!!!! And have essentially gone ahead and beat the crap out of them right in front of us….and NATO have shrugged their shoulders and just watched.

it’s disgusting

Sanctions aren’t help, they needed immediate help when forces “began” too gather on their border.

NATO are the too late brigade

No way in one million years would Russia have invaded Ukraine if we’d have got Ukraine across the line and under NATO, Putin is a mad man but he would have had the balls to get UKR in that scenario.

we failed them
Yes

Already seen this in the past

Hitler invasion of Austria, Poland and Czeck to defend the sudeten

They stepped up as soon as it was on the cards. Putin will never accept Ukraine/NATO to be looking over his borders. He needed that cushion with the West and acted as soon as there was an open shot for that.

USA won't step up in this scenarios for sure. It's very high risk for them. Right now, Biden can only speak for sure as he doesn't wants a war with Russia for sure( due to Putin speech).

This what I agree with. Had Ukraine been been included in NATO, none of this would happen. A whole country is being erased right in front of our eyes.

Latvia and Estonia border Russia

they are NATO Countries

Seems to be uncertainly now if there has been any direct assault on Odessa, lots of Russian mis-info going about.
Odessa has definitely been bombed, but no troops have entered the city yet. Video footage only seem to show movement of ground forces from Crimea, from Belarus, from Lugansk and from Russia towards Kharkiv.

I am cracking open some Champagne when he dies, It will be a great day for the world

Its over for Russia now. Pariah/terrorist state.
Unfortunately it's not. They will take Ukraine, announce it as part of Russia and most of the world will forget in a couple of years. What are we gonna do about it? Introduce more sanctions for their fictive banks that are designed for that purpose, to be sanctioned sooner or later? It's too late now. If they were hit REALLY hard the first time they sent their army into Ukraine territory and took over Crimea, story would probably be a lot different now. But we did nothing and they are laughing at us.

Now they will be surrounded by NATO countries on the west. There is no cushion whatsoever. it was not about NATO, it was about removing the government he did not like and creation of a pseudo-Soviet Union state. We have heard from Russian politicians and Putin himself just as much.

If anything, China is delighted

This is what it is going to happen. Putin knows it will get away with this

Exactly.

I feel so sorry for Ukraine at the moment, so many innocent lives are dying and going to die and we sit here and give sanctions whilst watching this unfold on tv.

unfortunately, without military assistance (I’m talking soldiers, tanks etc) I can only see this going similar to Poland in 1939 and the blitzkrieg. Ukraine can’t hold back the Russian army as things stand.

If that does happen and Putin manages to take Ukraine and they surrender, what does the world do? Sit back and let Russia take over sovereign nation?

Exactly, he attacked Georgia and Ukraine knowing both are non-NATO members. He wouldn't dare try this shit on Poland or Latvia.
Nobody thought he would dare launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine either. I wouldn’t bet against anything given he is all-in and threatening the nukes.

You are underestimating the financial might of the west here. Sanctions will hurt them. Hurt them badly. And they will need a lot of resources to invest in the annexed territories or the local community will revolt.

Feck me, could have been any of us. We just got lucky to be living in the wrong country
Could have been me fighting against Ukrainians. I left Russia as a child. I joined British military because I was always looking to do something like that and thus I would have almost certainly joined Russian military in another life.

I’m totally anti-war now by the way. It’s horrible stuff all around but it’s the world we live in.

He might have? Was there ever a discussion about Ukraine joining EU? EU ain’t that big of a problem for Putin. I genuinely believe that he just hates NATO more than anything.
Are you forgetting Maidan? That was what EuroMaidan was all about.

Ukraine still would act as a cushion. He'll instill pro-Russian government and give the East some independent state status.

It is hard to see what the West could have done to protect Ukraine.

If USA or EU had sent some troops in Ukraine, Russia would not even think of invading. But then all the trolls would be blaming the West for imperialism...

Many Russians might not want the invasion, but any Russian who blames Putin will not have a bright future.

That's the big difference between the West and Russia today.

But none that were ever closely aligned with Russian and Russian people. Ukraine strikes a different chord. Putin wasn’t going to lose Ukraine to NATO and fall under sphere of American influence.

He may be an autocrat, but he's democratically elected.
As much as Erdogan was democratically elected. Last time even people in Turkey didn't know who he was up when elected.

There's absolutely nothing democratically in Putin elections.
