then it’s just touch rugby. he’s injuries are unavoidable. intent is a lot easier to punish than outcomes. it’s clear curry wasn’t trying to injure another player. it’s clear ford was targeted. the rules are brainless and are ruining the game.

Yep, ignoring however the new rules are meant to be interpreted then foul on Ford just looked way worse. Instinctively, I saw that one and thought that could be red..

I understand your point and I agree on the idea that players need to protected but it's not one of the situations that should lead to a red, he clearly didn't do it on purpose and it's something that happens a lot during games without being even whistled. As I said months ago, there are far worse and deliberate dangerous actions in rucks that are not sanctioned at all even though they are suposed to lead to penalties, one of them is propelling yourself into a ruck, it's a foul and it's not new, propelling yourself toward the head of an opponent is also common and it's nearly never sanctioned let alone followed by a red card.
I have no argument about the propelling yourself dangerously into a ruck.

World Rugby would say players have had plenty of time to adjust to the rule changes by now and should never be arriving to a tackle that upright.

Englands top secret attacking patterns they’ve been waiting to unleash are so secret that they’ve not even been told about them themselves

I don’t mind then wanting to change rules to protect players but can we have replacements for yellows and red cards other than violent conduct type reds?

Punish the player for the dangerous action but don’t punish the whole team.

Was that from Curry deserving of a team having to play with 14 men for 77mins?
Would be a good solution for those type of red card challenges. 10 mins sin bin and then replacement. Orange card.

Then your real bad violent, no mitigation challenges get the red and no replacement.

Argentina giving a great example here of how NOT to play with a man advantage. Fecking hell. Shocking

Been around for more than 150 years without these rules
I get that but the landscape is changing. Look at the nfl as well. They are having to change all there rules for the same reason. They have to protect players heads.

Sure the new tackle level is nipple high. Our first week of local rugby was Saturday, we had two teams out and about 20 high tackle penalties, not one would have been a pen last season.

Yeah, I just feel bad for the players. It’s a quick game, split second judgements and there is no consideration for a slight misjudgement.

None of that is to say that England don’t need to do better and have more discipline.

fecking hell Raynal that’s right infront of you you stoned twat

To be fair, I never expected England to play this well with 15.... red card has done wonders for them, even if they get trounced in the second half. Could ignite them with the soft ass draw either win or loss.

Always wondered why teams didn't try more drop goals? This must be the most i've seen in a match.

Argentina really aren't playing this very smart. They look a bit rattled by the drop goals.

I can imagine. My younger brother finally hung up his boots this season as he wasnt keen on the changes. A shame, its just a very different game to the one I played and enjoy watching.

England have been better than the previous months but Argentina have been dreadful.

nah. wasn’t head on head. doesn’t matter his actions weren’t designed to do anything other than impede and potentially cause a nasty injury to someone else.
He didn't compete at all. His only intention was to clatter him. England player didn't land on his head, so yellow.

I clearly remember James Lowe getting a yellow for similar.

Pathetic drop goal merchants.
Argentina are so so sloppy practically handing the game to England

Because essentially you are sacrificing 7pts for 3... England have been in 4 attacking positions for them, but yet are still only 1 attacking Argentina position and a penalty away from losing.

Argentina have struggled since Covid. The Jaguares team was very important for them.

Argentina have been so bad, surely they’ll get it together

the laws might say that, but then don’t claim player well-being and safety is the primary driver of the rule changes that are clearly ruining the game.

I guess the difference is that in the NFL, they don’t make a team play with a player less for 76 minutes because they mis-timed a tackle.

He’s kicking them from the halfway line, hardly sacrificing 7 points for that
