Sure, but a lot saying it almost certainly should be a red too. But as with Football, I'll never want to see a red unless it's borderline to clearly malicious. I don't like to be some old school phony like football pundits and I get the players understand it due to minimal moaning.... but this is getting ludicrous, and I include this one that Argentina are about to have reviewed too, which was cleared more intentional. Neither should be reds, or even reviewed, but as I said, I'm ludicriously out of date
And actually upgraded to red. I'm surprised by that.

It won't be a red because no head contact, I'd say

That seems really harsh to me. I wouldn't be surprised if the Argentina one is upgraded now. Game's gone

I feel like old man yells at cloud territory, but the game has just changed too much from when I played. And that wasnt 'that' long ago.

Had zero expectations for this World Cup and expected England to be crap anyway, and I should probably wait until I see it but feck me another red. I could accept being crap but the indiscipline is infuriating.

The fact it was head to head made me think he'd get away with it.

The fact it was head to head made me think that he should get a red because that's how french players have been reffed. I don't like it but at least there is some consistency.

Game has become….weird if that’s a red card offence. I understand player safety etc but literally we’re talking about split second reactions, intent etc in a contact sport.

 what the feck... how can an intentional knee head height not be a red but an also intentional but accidental and not malicious head to head contact be a red. The rules are pure hypocrisy here.

I'm surprised it was upgraded but I'm also ok with it. I'm still on the side of protecting players and Curry created a dangerous head impact.

It looked worse on every replay.

Also, I can't believe we still have caterpillar rucks. Feck that shit.

Well we can hardly complain about the red….we’ve played with 14 in most of our recent fecking fixtures, you’d think we’d be used to it

yeah. game’s shit nowadays. the refs decide the outcome of every match, and it’s just a shit show of what rules they ordain to apply at any given situation.

Not gonna lie.... every game I seem to watch, someone ends up off the pitch for ludicriously soft shit. I'm incredibly out of date with this sport.
Virtually any head contact is a red and a few game suspension. Some see it as "soft" but it has to happen to keep the sport alive in 50 100 years.

I don’t mind then wanting to change rules to protect players but can we have replacements for yellows and red cards other than violent conduct type reds?

Punish the player for the dangerous action but don’t punish the whole team.

Was that from Curry deserving of a team having to play with 14 men for 77mins?

I understand your point and I agree on the idea that players need to protected but it's not one of the situations that should lead to a red, he clearly didn't do it on purpose and it's something that happens a lot during games without being even whistled. As I said months ago, there are far worse and deliberate dangerous actions in rucks that are not sanctioned at all even though they are suposed to lead to penalties, one of them is propelling yourself into a ruck, it's a foul and it's not new, propelling yourself toward the head of an opponent is also common and it's nearly never sanctioned let alone followed by a red card.

then it’s just touch rugby. he’s injuries are unavoidable. intent is a lot easier to punish than outcomes. it’s clear curry wasn’t trying to injure another player. it’s clear ford was targeted. the rules are brainless and are ruining the game.

The sport is really killing itself, getting very boring seeing it so often. A bit of common sense would go a long way.

Argentina are making a real pig's ear of this. You're a man up for feck's sake, make it count

Been around for more than 150 years without these rules

I hate when they judge things in slow motion. It should be used to establish contact etc. but slowing things down for collisions completely distorts things

I get that no sport will be contact free soon enough. But the rules should be consistent while moving towards there. It's okay to take someone out knee first and clatter them head height if you somehow avoid the head even if the whole action is intentional? Really weird to me.
