This is tragic stuff from England. I am now thinking a group stage exit might be a possibility
We’ll crawl through the group, meet the Aussies in the first round and get knocked out by Eddie Jones. It’s written in the stars.

England play with a dullness that sums of the personality of their coach but they deserve credit for winning against Wales after having 3 players sin binned and one red carded. Now they just need Own Farrell to finally learn how to tackle legally, safely and correctly.

I saw a video of the latest Owen Farrell special. He's in trouble for the WC I reckon.

fingers crossed. it would give england some clarity and force us to play a more expansive game with ford or smith, with actual centres at centre.

Romain Ntamack has been ruled out of the World Cup after suffering a torn ACL against Scotland.

He'll be around for the next one but the chance to play in a home World Cup doesn't come around very often and some never get the chance to do that.

We bribed the IRB once, we can do it again!

I came across this image while perusing the Green & Gold rugby forum.

World Rugby showing where their priority lies. The availability of star player for World Cup > player welfare

The All Aussie panel decided there was a late change of dynamics due to Jamie George's involvement in the tackle which brought about a sudden and significant change in direction from the ball carrier. The panel believe Farrell deserved a sin bin only.

He's one lucky boy. Sorry, he's one very lucky boy.

That's an absolutely disgraceful decision.

How many times is this twat going to dodge bullets for being a dirty bastard?

I'm utterly mystified. I had to go watch it again to see if I was imagining how bad it looked. Nope. Wtf

Nothing George does mitigates Farrell's upright stance and tucked arms regardless of the minimal effect George had on altering the Welsh player's position. Total joke, a scandal.

Owen has form when it comes to iffy tackles. Jamie George does influence the path of Basham (great name for a rugby player) and Owen is standing upright, so both parties are correct. There is clearly a witchunt for Farrell and England. What makes me pissed off witht he whole thing about head high tackles and player welfare is that in Rugby League it would have gone unnoticed. Far worse multi-player tackles are made in RL and nobody moans about it. I bet if a French player did a similar tackle to Farrell's, nothing would be said. It's all academic really because England will get nowhere. Of course, the 'Independent' board are now toast after World Rugby challenged their findings. It could get worse with boycotss if the World lots impose a three match ban, which they will. Any player after that that doesn't get a three match ban for a similar tackle will be villified.

Those two sentences don’t compute.

I’m actually for once slightly relieved this clashes with United. I’d normally watch the rugby but we’re going to get pulverised

Yeah, have to say I reckon Spurs will win too.
That would be a grim sporting afternoon. Unless of course England play some coherent rugby. I don’t mind a loss, just not 30 fecking handling errors like I’ve watched the last 2 weeks

It always seems to clash far more than probability says it should. Six nations are a nightmare every year as United seem to always have a 3 or 5.30pm kick off on a Saturday, somehow even when we were in the Europa.
