feck me! I don't envy Eddie Jones and the job on his hands now. His much vaunted homecoming has had a horrific start 0-2 now with New Zealand in Melbourne to come in two weeks. Yikes.

Some game of rugby that

Missed them both as I’m on family hols. Was there anything positive from an Aussie perspective?

Argentina are no slouches tbf, that first half last week might have people thinking they’re a crap side but really they aren’t, and they’ve won away in England and NZ in recent years, so they’ve broken that mental hurdle of winning away at the big boys

The first try was well taken. Other than that, there were no positives. Eddie still believes New Zealand can be beaten at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on July 29.

He’s got to say that I guess. Things are looking ominous though, it could be a 50 point battering the way the ABs are looking right now. Mind you, everyone’s expecting that so there’s nothing to lose really

Dear Wallabies,

Please keep things respectable against New Zealand at the MCG.

The Kiwis did their Kapa O Pango haka or Kopa o Panga according to Tim Horan.

Good Haka….would have been brutal if he’d snapped the boomerang though

I would have preferred to see them walk towards the challenge being delivered to them and just cop the fine from World Rugby.
Good start from your boys.

Not watched much of Gordon, how’s he rated?

Great kick by squeaky voice Smith. Wallabies get the ball 40m from the Kiwi line and kick it and that is how that try from Scott Barrett came about.

We might be a bit crap at actual rugby at the moment….but we don’t half produce a good reffing outfit

See what happens when you don't kick the shit out of the ball? You can force the opposition to infringe under a bit of pressure.

Can't be missing penalty kicks from in front even if it's your starting debut.

ABs close game looking really good, which is scary because their wide game is always good

It took the Kiwis about 6 years to properly replace Jerome Kaino and when they finally do, Shannon Frizell announces he's pissing off overseas at the end of the year.

Boy the Wallabies got away with one but they're going to be down 14 but get the scrum.

Aussies far better keeping ball in hand against this Kiwi backfield anyway

Rugby on an oval shaped ground looks pretty shit but Rugby Australia can do with the money that comes from such a big crowd turning out. There was an upset in the AFL at the MCG last night by the way.

A New Zealand win and they win the Rugby Championship in a World Cup year for the first time since they won the 2007 Tri Nations and we know what happened to them in that year's World Cup.

Will Jordan scores on the stroke of half time and that's game, set and match already. Very hard to come from 10+ down to win when you're strategy is kick before running.

Yeah that try was a killer. Aus need to score early otherwise it might end up a beating

Its obviously difficult to get better as a team without playing proper Rugby but I sometimes wonder about playing this level of competitive Rugby weeks before the World Cup. Very high chance of a big player getting injured

The last 10 minutes of the first half is what I feared would happen. Less kicking, more possession, move the All Blacks around and eat into this deficit.

The citing commissioner deemed this attempted charge down met the red card threshold. The officials on the field were happy enough that nothing untoward had happened. So, World Rugby believe a professional referee and a professional TMO got this horribly wrong. That's embarrassing for Andrew Brace and TMO Brett Cronan.

That's like a WWF move.
