Rugby League Super League

I am yes. Gotta have something balancing out all the success my football team seem to be having this last years ;)

Me and you both mate, although to be honest The Wire were always a distant second to United in my affections, and they've gone down a further notch by staging Liverpool reserve games!

Have to admit that I'm almost the opposite, Manchester United definitely come behind Warrington for me.

Great game and win tonight, against me home town :nervous:
Things are definitely on the up.

First win I've been to this season, it was a great game, thought wigan looked a bit toothless in attack though, hardly ever looked like breaking through our defense. Any pie eaters about?

Recorded the game on Sky+ but not seen it yet. Always nice to beat the Pies!

Smith seems to be making a big difference to Warrington's defence in particular.

Fabulous game Wire v Hull KR. When you see a game like that you have to think it's a shame that RL is such a minority sport.

Hopefully Warrington will avoid Saints in the Semi, but they'll want to avoid Wire as well.

fecking great game, wish I could have been there but loved watching it all the same.

Come on Wembley, would love it.

I was happy enough watching it at home, absolutely hate going to hull away. Definitely off to wembley if we get there hopefully we'll avoid saints in the next round, save them for the final :D

I've never been up to Hull but my Dad and brother, who I attend the match with, have and they hate it too.

Had Saints, Warrington and Huddersfield in an accumulator with handicaps this weekend, need Hudds to win by eight or more, can't see it happening now though they have just scored.

They wasted some fecking amazing oppurtunities to score in this game though, I can't believe it.

Jammy bastards St Helens just squeezed past Gateshead.

Booooo

Haha, yeah they were run hard Marching ;)

fecking Castleford have just kicked it out on the full, fecking hell, this bet is on yet. Come on you bastards.

Warrington v Wigan, Saints v Huddersfield, now there's a surprise!

Anyone any ideas where the Wire v Pies game is likely to be played?

I think it holds about 14k, I suppose it depends on the interest for tickets, as it'll be on the TV as well demand might not be that high.

I remember when we played Wigan in the semis there last time it wasn't a sell out, but the Reebok would be a decent shout if we need a bigger venue.

Sean Long gone to Hull apparently

Aye, good deal for all i'd say.

We've got plenty of young talent at Saints and it'd be wrong to stick by Sean Long out of sentiment when there are players pushing him hard for a starting place.

So it give us chance to let Eastmond & Wheeler get more games, and also Seasn Long gets the security of a 2 yeard contract.

Hull it seems have come away worst off imo - Sean Long has been fairly inconsistent and he's not getting any younger. The signing of him and Fitzgibbon is a bit odd but maybe they believe they just need some experienced heads to help develop the youth they have.

Frees some cap space up too for us to get a Right Centre in should Gidley decide to head back to Aus.

Never has been able to.

He's not going to Hull though to do the kicking, unless they are letting Tickle go and even in that case Fitzgibbon would come before Longy.

He's a lot of things but a great kicker isn't one of those!

He's scored a few drop goals against us in the past which is what I was referring to really.

Though to be honest I don't think his kicking has ever been that bad but you'll have watched them a lot more than me.

Anyone a fan of the Australian Rugby League ? Probably not.. seeing as most of you are brits :)

Personally I don't get to see much Aussie RL these days as I think it's mainly shown on Setanta which I don't subscribe to. Up to a couple of years ago, the State of Origin games were one of the highlights of the year for me - ferocious impact play, breathtaking skill and awesome speed.

Yeah mate State of Origin is great. First game of the series is held tonight in Melbourne. Im from Queensland myself, and to be honest, our team looks amazing. Our backline on paper looks unplayable. I've got myself a ticket to the third/final game up here in Brisbane - should be a cracker, can't wait..

Just googled the sides mate.... as you say, the Queensland back line is awesome - Slater, Inglis, Hodges, Folau, Lockyer and Thurston. The only one I'm not familiar with is Boyd.

Hope you enjoy the game. Give us an update once you sober up after the win!

Just read that Queensland won then Smurf. Won't even get highlights here I reckon.

Apple and Rufus, what do you reckon to Brian Carney signing for the Wolves until the end of the season?

Did you go and watch it then?

I know you mentioned it at the time of the draw.

Forgot all about it to be honest. I'm told it was a case of men v boys in the end but hopefully Gateshead will have learnt something from it.

Yep.. Slater, Inglisx2, Thurston (MoM) and Boyd with the tries. As expected, NSW couldn't deal with the strength and skill of our backline, we were up 18-2 within 20 minutes or something. It was great, we completely rolled over them early on. Unfortunately, they staged a second half fightback as a bit of luck went their way, and our forwards got tired. QLD were by FAR the better Origin side - 3-0 whitewash is on the cards I say :D

I'm hoping NSW pull it level in the second and it'll make the 3rd much more of a game - i've got the day booked off for the third you see and having an all day session, starting with an early morning bbq!!

Another good win for us tonight, the seasons looking promising if we keep playing like this.

Haven't seen him play in years, heard he's had some bad luck with injuries, he's a good lad though and could be a decent signing for us if he can keep fit and plays anything like he did at Wigan.

I keep forgetting about this thread.

Jgray, I'm suprised your not gutted about Long to be fair, I was well gutted when we lost Trent :(
