Rugby League Super League 2010

Poor decision by Bentham as the TV ref...that was never a try for Leeds, McGuire was clearly in front of the kicker

He was also the TV ref who gave Smith's try in the grand final

Although at 35 he's not guaranteed to make anything of himself within league the signing is exactly what the Crusaders need. A big name welsh international, ex Lions captain who's crossing codes to be a part of the new setup. I'm interested to see where they'll play him - centre would be my guess.

Also apart from the publicity side of things, Thomas has heaps of experience and will be a massive influence within the dressing room.

Great signing

How shite can Bradford get these days? The days of Lowes, Paul, Deacon, Fielden, Hape, Withers, Vainikolo, Vagana, Forshaw etc seem a million years ago.

Very sad to see such a great club going through such tough times.

Matt Orford has been utter wank tonight.

Leeds 62 - Harlequins 4

That's more like it :)

 @ Wigan

Not being wise after the event mate, as I agreed fully with your post, but what a comeback tonight.

Oh, and Wigan

Hull KR 28-24 Shit Helens.
Wire 46-12 Sheepshaggers.

Happy days! :D

Indeed. And I believe Briers, Mathers and Myers are all in contention for next week against the Bulls. Wire looking very strong.

We were very unlucky against KR - injuries have pretty much decimated our back line and with a few minutes to go we looked as though we'd pulled off a pretty decent result but it wasn't meant to be I guess.

I've said it before in this thread but at Saints we've got some of the best youngsters coming through anywhere in the league. Eastmond WILL be one of the worlds best players, i've never seen a lad at that age play the way he has so far this season. He can read a game like a veteran, has an eye for a gap, is starting to organise the team and is the quickest guy off the mark i've ever seen. Then we've Lomax and Wheeler who have shown already this year that they are ready to play in SL and not just make numbers up. Then Ashurst and Dixon who for young lads have not looked out of place at all, and finally a lad called Sean Magennis who's been out for a year with a bad injury but was thrown straight into the 19 this weekend.

Saints fans know that this season and probably next will be a real test but come our move into our new stadium these kids will be running the show - that's for sure.

Aye, we've a very strong squad this year, Vinnie will be out of the 18 when everyone is fit, which says a lot(although he's had a shocking start to the season).

We need Myler and Briers next week but Mathers makes me :nervous: He always has at least one rick per game.

Vinnie Anderson is a bit of an enigma really isn't he - on his day he can be stand out but his days are very few and far between.

Still though he's provided me with one of my favourite ever RL moments.....which I can't seem to find on youtube at the minute (a decent version anyway), But I stumbled across this one which is another of my favourite KR memories.....

Aye, I remember that. My jaw broke from the impact on the floor when that went over

Vinnie is quality and was one of our better performers last season IMO, but has been playing utter shite this season, his display in the Cas game was a hangable offence, yesterday was another dire showing aswell.

Seems the added competition and the fact he's lost the 13 jersey has sent him into a sulky, can't be arsed mode.

yeah he's always been liable to go into a sulk - I think his attitude probably was the reason his Saints career was cut short.

I like the look of the 3rd Anderson who's at the NZ Warriors I think - probably the better of the 3.

I can't watch NRL these days so I wouldn't be able to pass judgement on him. I think Louis has been superb for us though, even in our darkest hour last season, he was tackling himself to a standstill and at least looked like he could give a toss unlike the rest of the boozed up, careless twats that started to infect the club.

Wire 33-8 Bradford. 3rd week in a row that we've nilled our opponents in the 2nd half. Fantastic to see aswell as the nilling of Quins.

Our attack was a bit off in the 1st half but we clicked and really put Bradford on the back foot for 37 of the 40 minutes after their pressure on our goal line in the first few minutes of the sencond half.

Now for Saints next week, possibly our last ever visit to KR, hopefully we'll see the old girl out with a win

Will be different this time. Difference being we are better than them :p:devil::D

I think you're right, but Saints still possibly have a psychological edge on us after edging us out so many times. I'd certainly expect it to be tight.

Very good game tonight and good to see a dominant Warrington performance without Briers.

Salford got off the mark today with their first points of the season against Harlequins

Big win for the reds, McRae has been getting a bit of bird down at the Willows.

Leeds lost again but there's no shame losing to a fine Giants team, especially at the farm.

Speaking of Huddersfield, I've heard that they've agreed a fee with Wakefield for Danny Brough, and he'll be signing ASAP. Good signing if confirmed. He'll give them direction from the halves and will complement Robinson well IMO.

Yeah, most of the Salfud fans want McRae gone, I've been down to the willows twice this season, and the team have been booed off, and McRae booed off even more. I dont agree with it, but yeah, it goes on.

I see all Saints "injured" players have returned ahead of the Wire game after missing the hugely difficult match against Crusaders last week.

Just shows who really views it as a cup final these days. Resting players, raising their game, celebrating like they've won the grand final. Yup, Saints don't take the Wire seriously at all

No Briers for Wire by the way :(

We take you just as serious as any of the so called bigger teams.

To be fair the cup final thing's a bit premature, I know your favourites going into tomorrow but some of the warrington fans seem to have gotten a little carried away already. That kind of arrogance from some can only help make the feeling of losing even worse than it already is.

For what it's worth i'm quietly confident going into it - but this season is a strange one and nothing will surprise me.

I've seen our team already for tomorrow and it's fair decent to say th eleast, I can only hope those returning from lay offs are upto such an intense game. Especially Soliola who's not played a full half for us yet never mind game.

Going to be a great game no matter what, just a disgrace that Sky choose not to screen what is for me and many the biggest and most entertaining derby game of recent times to show some bottom of the table bollocks!!

I've been less than enamoured with some of their picks as well, but I guess they've got to be reasonably fair about it

Wire favourites? Since when?

As Tony said, we'll just concentrate on performing and let Saints worry about keeping the hoodoo going. No Saints player will want the shame of being part of the 1st team to lose to Wire after donkeys years. Pressure is on you lot tommorow.

Sky are clowns for putting Crusaders v Catalans on ahead of Saints v Wire. It's like turning down United v Arsenal for Wolves v Burnley

Just seen the start of the Crusaders v Catalans game. Gareth Thomas was tackled in the opening few seconds and didn't know what day it was. The commentators were talking about him naturally being targeted but there was nothing out of the ordinar about the tackle.

:(:(:(:(:(

Ach, we move on to Wakey next week. Pissed off that I couldn't get a ticket but that's life.

Well done Saints, we move on to the next game while they celebrate winning their cup final :smirk:
