Rugby League Super League 2010

Well, Maguire seems to have a plan and they're now fully utilising the youth that has always come through, so I guess it won't be a one-off

Sorry Ed, I should have added a ;) ....I was having a sly dig at the last 10 years not the next.

Great win for us last night - this run is pretty amazing really and the games against Warrington are fantastic adverts for the game.

The Video ref bit was a shocker, he clearly went to rule the try out until Phil Clarke raised that point. You'd like to think the video ref had a better understanding of the rules than the guys commentating.

As for Man of Steel, for me Pat Richards will take it but Roby should be in with a shout. He's been stand out all year for us and is playing better this season than the season he won MOS.

Believe me, Ed, as a Warrington fan that WAS controversial. You could clearly tell that the video ref was looking to disallow the try until Phil Clarke chirped up that he shouldn't be looking at that part of the move, and suddenly the pictures fast-forwarded and the try was allowed. For the video ref to have access to the match commentary, which clearly guided his decision, was utterly farcical.

Fair enough, at least he came to the right decision, but it is farcical though, a disgrace that he didn't know the rules

Ablett's three match ban stands then, quite rightly.

Who do you guys fancy to win the two semis? Really looking forward to the Saints-Leeds match, should be a classic. I'm going for Saints to shade it.

Warrington should have enough to beat Catalans, especially as it will be almost a home game.

My money has been on Leeds to win the cup since the start of the season, so I'll stick with them to beat Saints.

As for our game...why couldn't we have played it a month ago? :nervous:

Saints will beat Leeds in my opinion. From what i saw in the two matches last week was that Leeds were just a bit below the Wigan, Warrington and Saints.

sickening! injuries this season have hit us really hard. Eastmond has been out for a long time and now Pryce looks to be out for the season.

I do actually feel sick after hearing that, our prospects this season have took a hammer blow

Leon Pryce is out with a neck injury. With Eastmond already missing, that's a huge blow for Saints. Apparently it will be Jon Wilkin and Scott Moore in the half back positions.

I'll stick with Saints to shade it. I want Wire's hopeless record against them to end at Wembley!

I'll stick with Saints as I went with them orginally, although at 6-0 down it doesn't look good, but yeh, that's a huge blow and I think it may tip the balance Leeds' way

You thought wrong Ed

Great first 40 from us, I just hope we keep it up and the lack of creativity doesn't become too apparrent.

One thing i'm not sure on is that first try that got chalked off for Franny Meli - my understanding was if you hit the ball whilst in the process of making a tackle then it isn't a knock on? Unless the rules have changed and nobody has told me that was a definite try!

Saints look on the way now. Nice to see Wellens and Cunningham score tries, two players you can't help but like and respect.

That looked a forward pass at the end

EDIT
Actually, now I've seen it again, I'm not so sure

Very good play, nice break by Senior and then fantastic hands to juggle that and keep it alive

Nice try

Yeh. This game is far from over

EDIT
And as if to prove my point, a great offload and Leeds lead

It just showed the effect of not having any proper half-backs, as that kick from Wilkin was shite, that close you should keep it low and try and force a repeat set, not send it high and allow them to defuse it in goal

And then again, but this was worse, as you had tackles left

Here we go with Leeds
We're gonna give the boys a hand
Stand up and sing for Leeds
They are the greatest in the land

Every day, we're all gonna say
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Everywhere, we're gonna be there
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Marchin on together
We're gonna see you win
We are so proud
We shout it out loud
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
...
We've been through it all together
And we've had our ups and downs
We're gonna stay with you forever
At least until the world stops going round
...

I've no doubt whatsoever that had we not lost Leon Pryce prior to kick off we'd have won that.

We could have lost any other player and still had enough but our only fit half back was just too much.

I agree with that, just look at those two decisions Wilkin made at the end, one they go up the field and score on you, the other he throws away tackles remaining on a terrible kick

Pryce wouldn't have done either of those imo

I know, shocking decisons but Wilkin isn't a 6 and as you say with Pryce in that position it'd have been another story.

I very rarely make excuses after a loss and take getting beat pretty well but today is very frustrating.

I can't really blame Wilkin, but you'd hope after the first one, he wouldn't try it again

It just proves my initial point

Wigan, Wire and Saints are better than Leeds at this moment, and quite a bit better if you ask me.

When it comes to consistancy you are correct but one off games when it counts we will be hard to beat.

Some shocking results for us this season....Hull KR and Crusaders....shocking.

Hard lines JGra :D

Undoubtedly true. Man for man it's a very strong Leeds team, and their performance today, coupled with the last round win against Wigan, will give them great confidence.

Agree with JG about Pryce's absence being absolutely crucial today. Enjoy he win, though Marching. Today was your cup-final! :)

:D Bit of a comedian aren't you ;)

Clare Balding asks some daft questions in her interviews. Why does she do rugby league? :wenger:

I can't stand the BBC coverage of RL, Jonathan Davies is far too annoying and doesn't reallt know enough and Robbie Paul fails miserably at trying to pull of the Phil Clarke role.

Balding, well she's just annoying.

It says something when you'd rather have eddie and Stevo's take on things!

Easy win for Warrington yesterday. I did a quick head-count of the Catalans fans in the stand opposite, and came up with 72! To be fair, their guys didn't stand a chance when they walked out for a semi-final at a "neutral" venue and heard the overwhelming support for Warrington.

I did think Wire played well, though. They really were on the front foot from start to finish and cut out the mistakes which have been prevalent in the last few games.

Leeds in the final will be a stark contrast to this though!
