Sneaky bum time - Vaccination status: dozed off
I’m surprised that he’s only on a two year deal. Probably makes sense given the cost to terminate long conteracts.
Not sure what the exact process was. Read a couple of conflicting articles. One says if we paid more we could have gotten him sooner. Another says there is a law in Portugal whereby you need have to a period of waiting time. Ultimately it’s not the end of the world if he comes in 10 days later. I think we pushed him hard on this deal on many things they felt maybe he could have his goodbye and leave on his terms to maintain the relationship with both him and Sporting.Do you think Berrada should have been tougher on him staying for these 3 games?
And once again under the table.Surely it's City if they're offering 3 times what we're paying him.
There’s an option for an extra year in the deal for the club so it’s basically 3 years if all goes wellI’m surprised that he’s only on a two year deal. Probably makes sense given the cost to terminate long conteracts.
I thought he was talking about West Ham last year - you're probably rightI might be wrong but I’m inferring something completely different from everyone else from his comments.
A bit like how his “earning 3x more has been mistranslated” and he just means that another club could pay him what United are paying him (3x more than sporting), when he says that two other clubs have paid his buyout clause before, surely he just means Braga paid out his Casa Pia release clause and Sporting paid out his Braga release clause?
He seemed to be talking in that context essentially talking about how you have to make a decision and the pressure it puts on that decision.
We know no other club offered to pay his Sporting clause because they would have had to notify the stock market like they did as soon as we made our intention to pay it clear.
I think you are correct about the salary reference but he’s also making a point that he has had several other offers which he has rejected.I might be wrong but I’m inferring something completely different from everyone else from his comments.

Not buying so many predictions about how we will play. It's a different club, in a different league, in a different country with a completely different set of players. The confidence that many seem to have about how he'll approach things tactically isn't something I share.
At the very least there'll be some adjustments and tailoring to account for all of the above and any other number of untold variables. It feels like reading am author's previous novel and confidently predicting the plot, characters and dialogue of their next book.
I love how we managed to pull it of half way through the season. Usually we’d write the season of and go with an interim until the end of the season. Makes a massive change to see us actually planning and not giving away this season.Think everyone has handled it the best way possible and I like how he addressed the media so there's nothing else to ask going forward.
Omar with some solid negotiating too, makes a good change from what we're used to.
Obviously he might think the squad suits something else, but it’s worth appreciating that having spent the last couple of season coaching 343, he will be best at coaching that formation. With everything else he’ll have to learn at a new club, revisiting a formation that he hasn’t coached in a while, and was never successful with, feels like a risk.I tend to agree with that. Good managers don't really copy and paste, he obviously has tendencies but how exactly he apply them can vary. All the top managers adapt their ideas to their new context.
To add - most seem to be judging Amorim's entire gameplan on his last ten matches or so. The Sporting who won their first title under him were very different to the one he's built today. They were more direct, sat a bit deeper, had both wingbacks as attacking as the other (ie; insanely so) and used a false 9-ish striker in Paulinho, with the bulk of the goals coming from the pair behind him.I tend to agree with that. That and the key bit about Amorim, confirming all we “think” we know about him from his interview is “I prefer taking United over like this (us struggling). It means he can do things his way”.2 of his coaching staff are 29 and 28. Not that it matters but it’s rare to have quite young coaches in professional football younger than some players. Aslong as they gain the respect it doesn’t matter I suppose

I bet most of it was under the table too. Maybe buy an island for his brother or mother. A local football club for his dad.
That’s us fecked than.Amorim must be the real deal. Agbonlahor is saying we’ve finally got the right man. That guys been forever slating us for the past few years.
He would know if the City job was available, considering Viana is taking the City’s sporting director job. This is also a clear indication we ain’t writing off this season. We didn’t want to have an interim for the rest of the season. Good job INEOS. This is the way to run a football club.
Also City low key fecked up. If they announced Pep was leaving in May 2025, there is a chance Ruben could have said no to us, cause we did take a risk in issuing an ultimatum, and maybe followed his DOF to City.
What’s this with Liverpool? I can recall at the time it was reported that he rejected the Scousers, but now pundits are claiming they chose Slot over him.He snobbed Liverpool and come to us while we are in misery. He play attractive football and his biggest strength is his motivational skills, which we need more then anything IMO. He is the right guy to make us competitive again hopefully. But it is way too soon to think about winning the league. We will need to wait a couple of years for that I think.
