Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Why do they look so weird?

fecking hell. Caption competition please @rimaldo

that's the only way to begin it! :)
can't come in to heathrow and ask for a visa...

I won't pretend to be an expert on post Brexit Britain, but I don't think you have to present an employment visa at Heathrow to gain temporary access as an EU citizen.

This looks like a scene from a hypothetical Inbetweeners 3 movie set 20 years in the future where they've all actually grown up... Will's lost his hair, Neil has grown a beard and lives in Ibiza, Simon is still trying to impress Carly and thinks a turtle neck will help him accomplish that & Jay has become a slimeball salesman.

Also, I feel like Amorim needs to get better at hiding things.

When he said yesterday during his press conference that he will "explain everything" after he meets Ruud I was 100% confirmed that he was leaving. Feel bad for the coaches leaving along with Ruud as they've only just joined but it's 100% the correct decision if the new guy doesn't want them. Good luck to Ruud and the rest of them.

I wondered about that when I saw 4 or 5 others were coming with Amorim. I assume Hake and the GK would have left, who is the other one? The set piece coach?
No, not Georgson or Fletcher. Some guy I honestly never heard of, Pieter Morel.

Words like "philosophy", "process", "system" etc just mostly translate into "I want to play Guardiola's type of football but can't so have to bore my team's fans to death and take us into negative goal difference until everyone has had enough.

Would have rather had Ruud here than this guy after Ruud's start and now that he's sacked Ruud then I've lost even more confidence in him.

Yea, just saw all their names. Apparently match and video analyst. Makes sense the set piece coach remains. I've looked up the names of the guys coming along with Amorim in Sporting CP's website and I didn't see a designated set piece coach in there.

Dear oh dear.

Interesting point of view. I guess there’s always that one person.

Wtf are you even talking about?

First, he neither plays Guardiola's system nor anything remotely close to boring (at least so far). Second, I like Ruud, but it is the right call to let him go.
It's obvious that Ruud has an aspiration of managing United, so at some level, he might want Amorim to fail (even if it isn't a conscience thing) and that could hurt the job and the club.

It's time to move on from the ETH era which comes with some hard choices and a lot to work to change this club.

He is going to be bombarded with questions on why he didn’t keep Ruud but hopefully he eloquently quashes them in his first presser.

Stay strong there buddy.

It's reasonable to have some scepticism about the new hire but this is a tad reactionary. Also while Ruud did well to steady the ship there was no evidence that it was a sustainable solution.

Ruud was No2 to ETH, having been the main guy at PSV and he clearly wouldn't have been that high under Amorim. It's good he gets a clean break, Amorim starts with those he trusts and doesn't have to second guess what Ruud is suggesting and for Ruud to move on and be his own man somewhere else. If he chooses correctly he can use this stint to relaunch his own career.

 Blimey

At the time I remember thinking that ETH was a bit disrespectful in not consulting with Rangnick. I can't remember if at that stage there was a possibility of Rangnick being retained as an advisor and it was as if ETH didn't want to give him the time of day
Didn’t they have a long phone call?
