Exactly this. Either his ideas don't work in England or he is unable to coach players to perform to them on the pitch. Neither speaks well to him or his ability to turn this around.
 
Signs a leftback, who played a little bit right wing, is made play right wing back when we have Dalot at Left wingback that just constantly passes backwards.

The setup and tempo is bizarre and shocking. This is worse than Louis van Gaal ball.

This first half even before the goal just told me that we won't be a relevant team for a long long time. Just nothing worth cheering for at the club.
 
I do think he maybe needs to rethink the formation, players are simply not good enough to adapt.
 
Genuine question, has he ever used a different system at his old clubs?

This one doesn’t work with this lot (right now), adapt or die, he won’t have a job if he persists with this.
 
I know it’s hard to judge based on the quality of the squad but I’d be concerned with allowing him to build a squad in his own image based on the style of football we attempt to play. He seems ultra conservative in how we’re being set up.
 
It's a bit LVG but without a forward anywhere near as good as what Martial and a past it Rooney were.

Ten Hag really ruined us with this squad.
 
He's doing himself no favours. Wing backs on the wrong sides, Mainoo and Bruno the wrong way around. It's just odd.
 
He's not doing even the basic things right. No way we can continue like this for another 3 months. Play players in their correct positions!!!
 
Liverpool had doubts over the formation, yet we signed him up despite the fact that most the team was not suited to this formation and we are skint.
 
OMG, get him out. Ruud is has out classed him tactically with a second string Leicester :wenger:. I feel for those fans who are paying goods money to go support the team at OT.
 
Its ok, he just needs more training sessions. I mean, how else would dalot get used to lwb and dorgu get used to rwb.
 
he killed himself by saying he would never change, as now he looks weak if he does. every manager can have a preferred system, but ive never seen a manager who doesnt change it even a couple of times a season.
 
Very concerned here. I don't understand what's going on. It feels like Amorim has been given a new player who could help out, but purposely decided to play him out of position to make sure that doesn't happen.
 
I am not turning on Amorim in the sense of wanting him sacked, but right now there is zero doubt we are playing our worst football post-SAF
 
Yeah I think he’s in big trouble here. He’s going to have to try something different very very soon.
It’s not an exaggeration to say these last 5-6 games have been some of the worse most ineffective performances I’ve ever seen from a United team. You throw in the worse displays under EtH, Ole, LvG etc and these are pushing them close if not worse.

The players aren’t buying into the system and they don’t have the intelligence or athleticism to play it.
There’s never enough players forward when we’re moving the ball through midfield and never enough players forward to put a press on. It’s so so bad right now.

Dalot has been a catastrophe on the left, we sign a player who can play left back and he keeps dalot on the left. You can sit there and say “oh he said we’ll suffer “ etc etc. but that’s just fecking stupid. And we can’t just keep playing this badly. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration that if this continues we are sleepwalking towards relegation next season. We are by far and away the worse team in the league to currently to watch. Say whatever you want, this is not what we expected at this stage of his reign.
Do something different or you will lose your job.

If this ends is in defeat, the pressure will be immense. If he changes his formation after being so stubborn he will look weak

It’s a rotten situation. We just need to see the season out and hope things don’t get even worse.

But I’m not sure he will survive
 
Just checking in after being detached for a while. Is doubting Amorim still frowned upon or seen as knee-jerk/childish in here?
