Round of 16 | Switzerland vs Italy | Germany vs Denmark

good luck getting germans working on a sunday. someone would need to submit a request to the worker’s council, who will then ask why it has to be a sunday.
As a norwegian I can relate

I agree with you that clearing the stadium here was the right call.

The US is very different though, in that a lot of your stadia don’t have a roof.

plus they’re all pussies and unlikely to shrug off a direct lightning strike, as a tough european would.

There’s no reason whatsoever to play through a lightning storm.

In the U.S. we clear the field & stadium if lightning is within 10 miles & you can’t resume play until 30 minutes has passed since the last strike.

What you’re suggesting is begging for someone to die

Explain *how* please.

Lightning targets over a 100-500sqm radius upon direct point of elevation downwards that has the highest electrical potential. V = kg⋅m2⋅s−3⋅A−1 to specifically calculate that.

can you explain how it's physically possible for a non-metallic actor (a human) with a minute amount of mass compared to say, a giant metallic structure (the top of the stadium).

This is literally proven with a Tesla coil. You can stand in a middle of an artifical electronic storm and watch as the lightning strikes around you but it will actively avoid you because the other objects around have so much more electric potential.

This is where he was playing. Sorry but this is not a 80m high metallic superstructure.
