Mainoo looks a significantly better player at this level than Declan Rice. Not sure Declan Rice suits international football as a deep midfielder in a team that's supposed to win games.

Also at some point people will realize that just dropping deep and "making yourself available" to a back 4 doesn't do anything to progress play, just makes it easier to defend.
Can you imagine Southgate inspiring half time talk? Players need to kick him out and sort this out themselves
He made himself available so many times in the first 15-20 mins and the back 4 plus Foden and Saka just kept ignoring him. He seemed to lose enthusiasm for it after that for a while but brightened up again in the last 5 minutes of the half.
