The strikers are okay-ish — by definition they will have a more thorough description of them and their actions (as most reports will mention them scoring and the way that they did it), and perhaps even a few goals caught on camera. Unless they are someone like Sarosi, who can apparently do everything at the same time. It's such a shame that we'll never get to see the likes of him though, I've been so invested in him since I've picked him for the Euros draft.

I used Sarosi in all rounds till the semis in a draft and was nothing more than a liability in any round

Lovely player to use though if you like to believe what you read.

Yeah, agreed.

And I'm not talking about fitness level per say - when we compare pre-war players. For example I don't believe the gap between fitness level in the 60-70's etc would be that big compared to players nowadays, given they had access to same training regimes due to how developed was football at the time.

But before the war it was a mess - a bit like tennis pre open era. Those players weren't even professional ones, and that was an issue even in Europe in some well established countries like Germany and Holland even before the 60's.

You can't really have the same yard stick for players like Monti given all the mess in terms of tactics he inherited in the early 20's and 30's and how fast football developed after the war. Even Varela who is a caf darling has much more exposure and actual footage from the 50's WC, yet he's only born 17 years later.

Most footage I've seen from the 20's and 30's is also fast forwarded which speaks volumes about the pace at the time. Something which you won't see in the 50's or 60's.

Yeah. It was a bit easier in the Euros draft as we've only had a handful of games to judge them on and you couldn't argue against his goalscoring. I think I've made it to the semis where I've lost to an eventual winner Joga with Michael Platini at the helm, so can't complain here. But in a more generic draft I've never seen him getting enough appreciation (from myself as well).

Is this the first time Kopa is a draft winner? He, Baggio and Sammer are the stars of MJJ's side and it feels like this is the first time in ages that those three have it in them to win an All-Time-Draft final, in some other drafts they were reliable one and out players. I particularly remember a Christmas tree by EAP with Baggio and Kopa, very similar to MJJ's final side, going down in the first round.

Are you Tuppet too? :nervous:

That was one of my favourite builds.

:nervous::lol:I just find it weirdly exciting to look up old draft threads, they hold up very well over time and there is lots to learn about players and tactics. Before I signed up, I was an eager observer of drafts for quite some time, I think the first draft I followed was the Double Draft run by you.

I have no idea how you lost that match, that defense is a peach.

Congrats @MJJ that's twice Moby has voted for you :wenger:
Congratulations @MJJ

Great team especially that defense

Thanks Guys.

Lost by one vote, that was bad  Think I voted for him because I didnt like harms midfield.

@Tuppet used to spent an awful lot of time scanning through the old threads before making his pick. I mean literally hours to make an obvious pick. Now I think that he also planned his manipulation strategy at the time.

Wolf!

Congrats @MJJ excellent drafting and top team you compiled.

Commiserations @2mufc0 was a truly fine effort but required a bit more imagination how it will work which is always hard to pull votes.

Wolf!

This has evolved into real life werewolf with hanging of innocent villagers:lol:

Although it would be a weirdly fascinating case for any psychiatrist if Tuppet had developed an Indian-German personality split and both personalities would have no idea that they were competing against each other in drafts:lol:
