He seems to be getting slower after every game. There is nobody with a worse touch than him bar Fellaini and that includes Smalling and even DDG.
Unfortunately I cant disagree with you there regarding Rooney. Fergie had changed out shape n style to accommodate keano.Keane was still decent even if injuries deprived him of his best. Rooney is constantly shite.
This vote is a close 'un.
Keane still contributed in a positive way though even though his powers had waned, Rooney offers nothing of value. We had this same convo with Keane. ... we krpt him one season too long too. The United way?
If what happened to Mourinho at Chelsea had happened to Guardiola at Bayern, I reckon he too would have had to be more circumspect about dropping Hart. It's quite possible he is doing this, but I'd be kind of pissed off if so...because ultimately a top manager needs to make bold, ruthless decisions, and if Mourinho truly believes Rooney's good enough then he should not be playing. I understand the stuff about Rooney's influence but Guardiola's been able to walk into City and give Hart the punt without a moment's notice.
He is still a good player
Absolutely this.Ferguson's genius was he knew when players were finished no matter how big a player was. He dropped him from some really important games because he knew Rooney was declining. That was 4 years ago.
We keep buying number 10s and neglecting a ball playing cm for some reason and shoehorn him around the first 11 which baffles me to say the least especially with Jose's comments of, "he will never play in midfield for me"
Today he was like another man for Watford.
Good post mateIf what happened to Mourinho at Chelsea had happened to Guardiola at Bayern, I reckon he too would have had to be more circumspect about dropping Hart.
I reckon we are dealing with the double whammy of low confidence: ours due to our poor last three years and Mourinho's due to a disastrous last season.
But at least Fellaini has been effective somewhat. He makes the best of his limitations. And he really gives his all - even if he just doesn't have the talent needed for us.He seems to be getting slower after every game. There is nobody with a worse touch than him bar Fellaini and that includes Smalling and even DDG.
With hindsight getting David Luiz for Rooney and cash would not be as bad... And I am not rating David Luiz at all.Bet Mourinho wishes he had managed to buy him at Chelsea now.
Bringing up Feyenoord game, people should know we made a huge change in selection. There are quite many players who only played their first official game together. Those players not gel as well in their first game together is understandable and excusable. We lost due to am error by the lineman while the game is pretty much stalemate. Our problems run deeper than Rooney (as seen against Feyenoord) but he certainly is not a top class player anymore. Hasn't been for a while in truth.
It must be in his contract. If fit he playsNo because we keep hiring stupid managers who will keep playing him
I've started to seriously think the same to, just because there are not any other excuses left why both Van Gaal and Mourinho won't stop playing him.I think he has a clause in his contract. I thought it was shite but I think it's the truth now.
No other explanation.
...Daily Telegraph said:Rashford is genuine trouble for an opposition defence. Which is not something that can be said for the hapless Wayne Rooney, who was once again about as mobile and effective as an oak wardrobe.
To quote myself...The problem is bigger than just Rooney. We lost to Feyenoord playing without Rooney in the side.

This game though, we look lost and worse than Watford for most part having worst player of both team on our side. For someone who doesn't travel midweek to be the slowest player on field come weekend...

The greatest manager of all time tried to shunt him out in 2013 and this was after a season where he fecking scored 34 goals! That says it all
Not a Man Utd fan, not even English. Just an honest opinion but people will say he has an agenda.
Rooney had 12 goals in SAF last season, RVP had 26
Is that quote true Steve?!
84, actually, and still about 10 too high.86 on Fifa. Clearly you're all wrong.

3 years. Goes to 2019. We'd owe him around £40M I think if we cancelled his contract. Don't know if any penalties and such are included - it could be more.Out of interest, how many years has Rooney left on his contract and what is he paid each year? I'm sure I heard a rumour he's on £300k per week?
