A good take. Not entirely spot on, as he is known for his petulance, but he does deserve some level of compassion here. This clearly goes beyond football.

Plus he fecked off to Portugal when dropped v City. Not enough is made of that. I’m pretty sure he refused to be a sub which is worse than thisIt's not a good take, because he did the same for juventus.
For Portugal he stormed off throwing his arm band down before the final whistle
He left the stadium Vs rayo (with some other players) and was warned
He knew what he was doing, he wanted the attention on him after our best performance of the season which didn't include him
It's also a weird take from the media given reactions we've seen towards the likes of pogba.
Ronaldo in fact played the previous game and contributed nothing (and we became better when he came off , and we saw his reaction when being subbed off)

It really is embarrassing. The guy couldn’t behave more disrespectful towards your club.Jesus christ we need to get this cult out of the club ASAP. It's nauseating seeing grown men falling over themselves to worship a declining, narcissistic and downright disrespectful footballer
It's a shit take. As you state, his central premise is false. His behavior fits exactly to type. Egomaniac, narcissist who cares more about the individual than the team. So it does go beyond football in the sense that this is just how he is wired as a person.
Does he deserve compassion for his personal loss? Of course but he has decided to spin a media narrative and it's open season for people who want to criticize him for that especially when he has disrespected the manager, club and fans.
All the media people sucking him off is only because he has a lot of fans and influence.
Completely forgot that under Rangnick.Plus he fecked off to Portugal when dropped v City. Not enough is made of that. I’m pretty sure he refused to be a sub which is worse than this
Anyone listen to the drivel from Rio?
Personally I feel that he was the reason we were thrash last season. Yes he scored a lot of goals but the team was shite. Football is a team sport and if there is disunity in the squad, we will see it in the results. I am saying this based on:
1: Greenwood and Rashfold became extremely greedy and toxic at the start of the season. I remembered Greenwood scored and Ronaldo never celebrated with him. Bruno was only trying to find Ronaldo even when greenwood or Rashy was in a better position. Greenwood started doing same. Them we heard a report that it was a gang up between the English players and the Latinos.
2: We also got reports that Maguire had a spat with Ronaldo. Ronaldo thought he should be the captain of the team and the leader in the dressing room. The English players were not comfortable with it.
3: Cavani wanted to go back to Uruguay but was promised game time and stayed just because of that promise. Ronaldo came and Cavani was frozen out of the team. His number 7 shirt was handed over to Ronaldo immediately ( We can make an argument for/on that)
Bad management by Ole made the team suck last season. Remember we were second in the previous season before bringing Ronaldo. He played all our games but every other player looked really bad. Even in games that he was playing shite, Ole never had the courage to drop him. When the team was playing bad, Ole never had the courage to play a team that will give him a proper balance because he was scared of Ronaldo and the media. When OLE left, the 2 matches carrick played as manager, Ronaldo was on the bench( that should tell us something)
In summary, Ronaldo has been toxic and I pray he leaves this club in January. I have been a fan before Ronaldo came and my children will be fans long after he has gone.
In the opinion of a substantial segment of the fan base, the fact that the team played to Ronaldo's strengths was the reason so many players had a massive dip in form. It cannot be a coincidence that Rashford, Bruno, and Shaw all perform better when he isn't part of the playing squad.
but Brentford last season was before his kid, as was the City incident. Nothing that has happened afterwards was in any way out of character for the person we all saw prior.Completely forgot that under Rangnick.
Yeh, I still feel things have become WORSE as a result of his kid + him not coming to terms with his ageing.
He is a very good athlete competing against even better, younger athletes in EPL. This simply isn't something that gives him an advantage, and he hasn't adapted his game to it.It plays a role because he isn't adapting. He is stuck in 2014-16, when he doesn't have to. He is still a very good athlete but has less of an edge than he had during his prime. And Cavani is an even worse comparison because Cavani was arguably the best athlete around, a very powerful, agile and fast with incredible stamina.
And he should change his game and be more of a support player but he seemingly can't accept that, in a way Giggs is the example at United. The more he lost physically, the more he leaned on his technique and on being a support player instead of being a headliner.
Anyone listen to the drivel from Rio?
it's just up from your post. What did he say?
it's just up from your post.
It's not just the walking out, it's looking at him on the bench. He looks forlorn and anxious. Something is clearly up.but Brentford last season was before his kid, as was the City incident. Nothing that has happened afterwards was in any way out of character for the person we all saw prior.
Him going ASAP would be the best thing for ETH and United.Plus he fecked off to Portugal when dropped v City. Not enough is made of that. I’m pretty sure he refused to be a sub which is worse than this
He doesn't deserve to be cut any slack. He can't keep doing this shit and getting away with it. Thankfully Ten Hag agrees and has punished himIt's not just the walking out, it's looking at him on the bench. He looks forlorn and anxious. Something is clearly up.
I'm not making any excuses, he's incredibly petulant, he has used Castles to brief against Ten Hag repeatedly (did so only a few weeks back), he skipped pre-season and wanted a move to a club elsewhere in the PL BUT I do think United fans are going a bit OTT.
I'm backing Ten Hag 100% on this but I think let's just cut Ronaldo some slack with what's happened with his kid.
But I’m naming incidents from before that where he was completely out of order. Even his super fans grew tired of his antics BEFORE that, he doesn’t have any slack left to be givenIt's not just the walking out, it's looking at him on the bench. He looks forlorn and anxious. Something is clearly up.

Even if it was to do with the child. It doesn't mean there is an obligation for Ronaldo to play every game.Bollocks. This line is crass in the extreme. The death of Ronaldo’s child has nothing to do with his decision to act like a prat the other night. It’s outrageous that this needs to be spelt out so frankly, and an insult to folk who have experienced similarly horrific situations in their personal lives.
Here you go.Not available in my country unfortunately.
The loss of his child angle is very disingenuous. Ronaldo has always been emotional and petulant. To say he is reacting like that cause he lost a child is silly.
Here you go.
Rio cannot grasp that like him Ronaldo has got older. Prime world class players get treated differently. Past their best players, who cannot accept that fact don't.And some wanted this guy on our board. He would extend Ronaldo's contract for 5 years with 700k per week wage.
"Some players are needed to be treated differently". What a load of bollocks!
but Brentford last season was before his kid, as was the City incident. Nothing that has happened afterwards was in any way out of character for the person we all saw prior.
Its tiring really. This is just wilful ignorance from him and Evra the other day. Just shut the feck up and don't invite more negative publicity.Rio cannot grasp that like him Ronaldo has got older. Prime world class players get treated differently. Past their best players, who cannot accept that fact don't.
I am seriously worried about how he will cope when he has to stop playing. Been no sign he will be a manager/coach and could you imagine if he were sacked? He needs constant adoration so how will he achieve that, be like Pele and get himself invited to every football event he can. Go on the after dinner speaking circuit?Anyone seen Ronaldos sisters statement, compared him to Jesus. He's a legend but seriously? He's 37 years old, he should have enough experience to be mature enough to accept a decision made by the manager. I'm starring to think, Ronaldo was a major factor in last year's catastrophic decline. Team spirit is more important than one player and when someone considers themself as God, there is a serious issue.
His sister has compared him to Jesus apparently, so he will need to resurrect his career.I kind of hope he has a bit of a redemption arc here (to use a modern phrase ) and knuckles down and sees out his contract here. The club, the fans etc. have to 100% back the manager in this situation but if Ronaldo is open to making amends then I see no reason why he still can't be an impact player this season (see the games against Arsenal and Everton as an example). He might even be able to leave the club on a high with 10-15 goals and a trophy.
The worst scenario now is if he, encouraged by other ex teammates and pundits, digs in and starts making the situation worse instead of accepting that he was wrong. If that happens he's out in January and it's just an unpleasant, souring end to his time here. I think that would be really sad to be honest.
