Ronaldo | Refused to come on as sub, left OT | Axed from squad for Chelsea & fined 2 weeks wages

Not defending Ronaldo and I hope he's dropped for the weekend and kicked out in January. But I guess these comments show the team spirit SAF fostered in his squads because that's the only reason I can think of in the loyalty Rio, Keane etc show Ronaldo in public. Which I suppose would explain their behaviour ( even though they are in the wrong here). But loyalty can often be like that.
That's the easy go-to but it's not really good in this context because it's soo contradictory to their well known back the manager mantra. If I could be arsed now would be right to post Keane saying this lot would also throw Ten Hag under the bus. This has been full on hypocrisy. This is even worse because they are throwing a manager who is actually succeeding for their mate. So all it took was personal bias.

Hopefully that's the end of him here. Doesn't even deserve to play the Europa games.

If this is true, wow. At what point do we have grounds to just terminate his contract without paying him out? It's sad to see him fail to accept her decline, but here we are. feck him off 1st chance we get.

Yea he needs to be suspended yesterday, that sort of primadonna selfish bullshit is exactly why no one around Europe wanted him. Added with the fact that he's losing it on the pitch

Just get him out of the club asap. Useless on the pitch, and a detriment off it.

He had his day, and performed great last year under the circumstances, but now he is just a 37 year old on an astronomical wage.

Love Rio Ferdinand but seeing him stick up for Ronaldo and putting all the blame on Ten Hag is embarrassing. Ten Hag has every right to leave him out the team if he's not performing you can't just pick players because they're a star name. And why should we release him? We'd still have to pay up the rest of his contract so what's the point

Wow. Surely frozen out and then kicked out in January if that's true.

Some of these same ex pros who still fawn over him and defend him to no end would absolutely slate the likes of Mbappe or Haaland if ever they pulled something like that.

We have someone in jail who’s still taking a wage. Might be fined but can’t terminate his contract without paying him out.
He should buy out his deal if he’s unhappy, he can afford to. Otherwise he should be professional.

This is both infuriating and sad at the same time. It's like watching a punch drunk Ali keep trying to fight even though he isn't the same guy anymore. Just refusal to accept decline. I get it, because guys as obsessive as Ronaldo don't become that great unless they have a delusional level of confidence, but he's been awful this year. It's not even like he's had poor overall play but is still banging in goals, he's been shit in front of goal too.

Eh, proceed with caution. I expect a lot of alleged breaking news and exclusives to be fabricated in the coming days

Ronnie is a cnut but Ronnie+Red Devils = clicks. The journalist will try to get more clicks out of the whole situation.

The good thing: the club hopefully gives money to the manager to finally buy a striker

As I said in the other thread, that makes less sense. I thought this was like Ruud in 06 where he gets pissed off for not getting on the pitch.

I’m kind of glad he’s making it easy for Ten Hag to freeze him out. Hopefully he’s played his last game for the club.

Trying to think about this as fairly as possible, if Hag had told him something like "you'll coming be on with 25 mins to go" and then ignored him until minute 89, he's kinda justified in being pissed off, right?

He’s not in jail. He’s awaiting trial. They’re very different circumstances so bringing Greenwood into this discussion doesn’t make much sense.

Pissed off, yes. Walking out and refusing to play, no.
