True, I had a feeling we might regret not taking West Ham's offer and the way things have gone since then are just confirming these suspicions. I'd say we need a CB, DM and another forward because it's the lack of goals that will most likely hurt us.
I imagine that his price has gone up since Caicedo has come off the market. Especially given the fee it took for Caicedo to come off the market.

I bet you are, but this isn't Football Manager. You're assuming that both of these players will be world class and a highly functional midfield. We're not Southampton playing with two defensive-oriented midfielders. I guess Mainoo is more box-to-box, but it seems Ten Hag wants to form Mainoo into a CDM.
Lavia isn't all that and 50m is stupid money to throw at him when you have Mainoo sitting there waiting to play the exact same squad role.

What kind of question is this? No one are arguing against the fact that Lavia has great potential and has a higher ceiling than Amrabat, but right now, it's not even debatable. We're looking for a deep lying playmaker who also have the intensity and stamina Ten Hag looks for in his midfielders. Amrabat fits that bill perfectly. Below you can see their passing stats, and it's obvious who we need right now. Lavia is a teenager who has made a lot of mistakes, which is normal, but not someone we should be playing frequently when we need to be top 4. He should go to a club that will play him so he can continue his trajectory. Brighton will be good for him.

And then again Amrabat is someone who can show up to receive the ball from the GK and CBs and move the ball forward consistently which we need in our side. While Lavia has the qualities to do that, he doesnt do it enough atm and neither is he consistent in his passing yet.
