I m surprised this didn't happen earlier in the window. I said all along that lavia would be an ideal backup to Caceido for Pochettino team. Both can co exist in the same team and he present much more value than Adam's.
Now all Pochettino need is one of olise/cherki and perhaps felix on another loan to buy (dependent on how Borja is doing). If kepa leaves than they would always need costa of course. His team is barely prepared for the season.

I think Liverpool played with fire here. From what I understand all the City clauses in the contract guaranteed anything less than approx 50m£ would not be interesting to the Saints & Lavia is a close enough plan B for Caicedo at half the price.

Yea definitely both. It isn't Caceido or lavia unless Brighton reject chelsea new offer. Chelsea squad doesn't really have depth and their only other number 6 they have is that kid Ugochukwu from Rennes who might be loaned out. Santos did well for them in that role, but even he is not a natural number 6. Lavia is at the right age although a more expensive alternative to play that subsidiary number 6 role or even play in a midfield three with Caceido and enzo as the cm. It made sense and with one of their sporting director working with lavia before, I wonder why it took them this long.
The only inquiry I have is whether chelsea has dropped their interest in Adam's now

I can't see why not. This is the type of support the manager needs and the type of depth his squad needs to be competitive.
Caceido, lavia, enzo, Gallagher and Santos is good enough for the double pivot position. With carni and gallagher playing more of an understudy to the main number 10. Much better signing than Adam's that is for sure.
