Ok.

Transfermarkt is showing:
14/15
20 goals & 7 assists in 48 games

13/14
16 goals & 8 assists in 36 games

12/13
17 goals & 7 assists in 36 games
Think you need to exclude the Europa Cup cos that competition is a joke

Slightly off topic:

But... Since when do people add assists when talking about a striker?
I know some did that for Falcao, out of desperation - but is it done for all of them now?

Proof that the battering ram can do more than occasionally score

Don't want Lukaku anywhere near the club, he's decent but he'd cost a fortune and he in no way fits the style of play we're trying to implement, in fact he's as far away from what we need as possible.

Then it looks like this

14/15
12 goals & 7 assists in 39 games

13/14
16 goals & 8 assists in 35 games

12/13
17 goals & 7 assists in 36 games

I think it's highly relevant. There's different football being played in Europe. A lot of strong teams in the Europa league.

The discussion led to direct goals being contributed by a striker. What's ridiculous is saying that Lukaku has done better than any of our strikers in years. Rooney comfortably delivers more each season. RvP too despite playing less.

They played, Dynamo Kiev, Wolfsburg, Lille, Young Boys and Krasnodar. Those teams aren't exactly complete trash.

Ok.

Those stats aren't even that bad either.

Ah the caf snobs at it again with their acute scouting skills. feck off with the donkey stuff. He is twice the player Welbeck is and you all loved that baby giraffe.
His technique and touch is very limited for a top striker. Can't compare him to Welbeck. Completely different players.

Of course he's not useless, but I don't want him here. We already have Rooney.

The only reason I wouldn't like him (cause you mold players), is his agent. I think we could develop him as a player. He's still young enough to improve but his agent makes him less appealing.

No, no, no. If we were interested in a player in the Lukaku mould we would have gone for Benteke. He was attainable for a fee Lukaku would command and Everton would probably ask for more. He's got a crap first touch, isn't particularly fast or clinical. Needs a few more years experience. Would rather buy him in a couple of seasons for £10m more if he has become a better player.

The consensus amongst the Everton fans I know is that he's lazy, always offside, and overall a huge waste of money they'd be happy to see the back of.
I can't see how we're getting linked with him to be honest.

Yeah you can, he scores and makes goals. Welbeck doesnt.
Being a better striker than Welbeck isn't a sign of quality for the type of striker we should be seeking.

He scores a fair amount of goals, but he would most likely slow down or ruin a lot of our attacks considering the way we are set out to play.

He'll cost twice as much and definitely isnt twice the player

If they'd like to see the back of him they're idiots.

I wouldn't mind him as support if the price was right, but Everton paid £28m for him, and would want to profit.

I think £28m is too much already.

Everton get ripped-off man - no way he was worth that kind of dough & he never will be either.

Mid-table standard striker with glimpses of brilliance, sums him up. Never a top 4 player in a million years..

Do you think you got your money's worth?

.....he's had one season since we bought him ffs! Plus it happened to coincide with a season which the whole team performed miserably. In that season he still managed 10 PL goals and 8 EL goals (Top scorer) which isn't terrible but isn't great either. It's decent. Time will tell if it was worth it or not.

He looks an average striker with potential to be good. But even then I doubt he's worth the money

Mind you Benteke wasn't worth more than that either and Liverpool took him

He's better than Benteke but I'm not sure if he'd be right for us. I think Everton paid far too much for him as well so they'll want to recoup that and more.

An average striker doesn't get 36 goals and 15 assists in two seasons at the age of 22. He's consistently scoring and assisting ~20 a season which are good stats to have. I hope he gets better service than he did last season (He had little to none last season at times) and there is no reason that he won't be able to get 20 in the league in a season. He has a great ability to find the corner of the net.

He's a good goalscorer but that is all he is.

I'm in a minority but I have said for the past few years I think he will become a good player and I'd be happy to see him here

I don't actually think it will happen but I'd be pretty happy with him here and I think as back up to Rooney he would be an excellent option

We couldn't get Baines, Coleman and Stones from Everton. We only had Fellaini for a horrible fee. Once again Everton will rip us for a substitute, and not a good sub.

LVG hates slow and motionless forward, why would we buy him ? Always found him overated to be honest.

I rather keep Chicharito as the second striker behind Wayne, and Wilson the third, and with some playing time, Chicha can reach 10/15 goals being a terrific sub.

If he wasn't so lazy and had a bit more pace about him, then I'd approve.

Nothing to add, so I'll vouch this post.
His apparent laziness is the only problem and I don't think that he lacks speed. And he is only 22, a coach like Van gaal might be able to kick the laziness out of him.

He is a good young player who Everton paid through the nose for. Doubt we will see him at United this season, but he has potential.

If Everton hadn't paid 27m for him he might have been a good option.

I don't think he's lazy, it's just his big body mass makes him get very tired quickly. When he's fresh he's a beast and can bully any defence, but his stamina soon drains and then becomes sloppy with his touch and lacks movement. If he can control that as he gets older he will be very good.
