But we should have appointed Mourinho and had him carry on the great Utd tradition of promoting youth, right?

You've got a point. Jose would have probably let the likes of Pogba and Morrison leave and then spunked 30 million quid on some carthorse like Fellaini. Thank god you dodged that bullet!

I thought that was a better performance than the one against Liverpool. His passing is still off, he completed a shocking 13 out of 25 passes. But, that was a great ball for the winner and his physicality got the better of Vidic on a couple of occasions.

He will physically beast all defenders for years to come, unfortunately.

I wasn't that impressed by him last night.

Don't get me wrong, he's clearly going to be a real player and he was a goal threat, but I didn't think he did much more than be really strong, as soon as he was asked to do much more than out-muscle a defender or let fly with a venomous shot he pretty routinely fecked it up.

The scary thing is that if he can improve his actual ability with ball at feet I think he's a shoe in for the best striker in the world, he's dangerous enough on his raw attributes alone.

Personally I'd rather spend our money on players than sacking managers.
But yeah

You're a funny guy.....

At the same time, I think Lukaku and Curtois will be regulars next year, with a core of Hazard/ Oscar etc, can't exactly claim them to be ageing

Never claimed them to be aging, claiming they had 3 and decided to send the best one out on loan for some reason.

Jesus, do we really have a Chelsea supporter and a Liverpool supporter trying to take the piss out of Man Utd for wasting money? I'd still be avoiding topics like that like the plague if I were ye.

It's an eye popper.

Your silly and off-topic dig at Mourinho started it! And as a Chelsea fan I have learned all about god-awful big money signings so feel more than entitled to comment and laugh when I see another club doing it.

He's getting premier league experience and is still Chelsea's player. Don't think allround a bad situation for them.

It wasn't a dig at Mourinho. It was a dig at all the Utd fans still walking around butt hurt that we didn't hire him.

Should have given Lukaku a shot this season after how he did at West Brom though IMO.

I think his overall game is still a bit raw so a loan is the best thing for him. He plays week in week out and gets to be the main focus of a good passing team. Impressing in a team like WBA is one thing but for Chelsea is a completely different matter. Why the likes of Defoe imo never played for top clubs, very good at certain things but overall game not good enough.

Very raw. Talented but still very unpolished. Every now & then his first touch is ridiculously poor, he'll clatter recklessly into others and yet shocked at the foul or shoots at will...but he also does things few other strikers can with what looks like relative ease

Give Roberto credit, he added some key ingredients into Everton rather than just elevate the side Moyes had. Plus, he showed trust in going with Barkley from the start of the season.

Shame Lukalu will be gone soon because they really are lacking strikers

Who was the retard who said in Welbeck's thread that Lukaku might just become 'an another Drogba' in a way to belittle his potential/ability?

Anyway, he was excellent yesterday and I can imagine that it might be a nightmare to defend against him. Such a powerful player. I don't know what Mourinho was thinking to loan him, he's better than all their strikers put together.

Problem is some people just see his goals and then automatically take the mick out of Chelsea for letting him go. They don't realise Chelsea aren't in a position to give him game time he is getting at Everton every week so he can develop, kind of like how your lot have let Deulofeu go out so he can develop further before bringing him back.

I think it's because Eto'o and Torres are hardly tearing it up, some fans feel why not give Lukaku the chance to thrive in their own team?.

Perhaps the pressure of being at Chelsea would have got to him, but I do not think its a poor decision on his behalf to move away and get regular games.

Demonstrating a remarkable insensitivity to the public mood Lukaku has apparently aired his support for Anelka over the quenelle charge.

A video has been removed from his Twitter if i have heard correctly.

Depends on how he defended Anelka. There are ways without condoning to the meaning behind the sign.

Do you even know what it means ? It seems that the media in England just recycled the hysterical meaning given by some jewish institutions in France.

Yes I know what it means. You can pretend to believe the anti-semite and what he says it means or you can look at how people use it and respond to it. The Iron Cross or the salute that the Nazi's used weren't invented by them but we all know what it means if someone use them today.

Removed from our website due to it being a matter of personal opinion by Lukaku and us not wanting to seem it as an opinion of the club due to the backlash.

Here is what he said:

Lukaku, speaking in a video interview which has since been removed from Everton's website, publicly backed the West Brom forward, saying: "He's been my idol since I was a kid. He still is.

"I think he shouldn't be banned for that. He was supporting a stand-up comedian in France. We don't have to make such a big deal about it. He's an adult. I hope he doesn't get suspended because he's a player people want to see play on the pitch."

I don't think he has said anything wrong, he's just been a bit naive.

I hope the hammer gets brought down on Anelka. He knew exactly what he was doing and the timing is extremely telling.

Unnecessary comments from Lukaku.

The majority of the people here just eat what the media give to them without actually try and look into what the quenelle really means.

Please don't comment on things you have little knowledge of. This "quenelle" thing has been blown out of ridiculous, banning Anelka would be a joke.

His Chelsea contract expires in 2016.
Not sure why that's relevant.
It could easy happen. Im not sure he'll ever fit in there with Jose as manager.
Given their formation and style his patchy finishing would be exposed a lot more at Chelsea.
Chelsea need a top class finisher to exploit the service their midgets will create.
100%, I'm not sure what Jose can tell him has changed from this season to last for him now to want to use him (Imagining it's the beginning of next season), Chelsea with Lukaku would surely be top of the PL or at the very least, a better side, surely it's only so long before he doesn't want to go back, not feeling appreciated etc There's a case with Curtois too, I think he'd be quite up for an Atletico stay and Simeone wants to keep him.

It's like people on here think Chelsea are bankrupt. If a player fecks about Chelsea, they get benched/play in the reserves. They don't have to sell and would rather make an example of said player. In any case, I think he'd want to at least try and prove himself at Chelsea. He'll be given another go next season. Hope you're right though, he'll turn out to be a terrific striker so if he does feck off from Chelsea then superb.

So any player that wants to leave Chelsea, they'll let him rot on the bench etc It just doesn't happen, Kalou isn't the norm and Chelsea may not 'need the money', but they will receive large offers for him, so to turn that down and let him rot on the bench, while paying him, would serve as a reminder to all young players, stay away from Chelsea.

I agree regarding the proving himself, but that's to prove it's at the top level, I don't suppose he grew up in Belgium with his heart stuck on Chelsea, if another top team start showing REAL interest and appreciating him, I have no doubt he will probably want to leave.

That's hardly hampered there pursuit of young players has it? There's been plenty of young players that have sat on the Chelsea bench yet they continue to sign for Chelsea.

I think he's probably frustrated. Having said that, he was given a chance and he did blow it at the start of the season for Chelsea. I do agree with the bolded point though. He's probably one of the best young strikers in Europe, so I'm sure there are many admirers.
