Yesterday's tactics suited him down to the ground. Everton surrendered possession, but could play on the counter. That meant he didn't have to worry about his short passing or first touch so much, but could turn and run when given space, or be left one-on-one with a defender to get his goals. I doubt whether Everton will play like that often, as it was probably just a reaction to last week's result with Martinez wanting them to be defensively solid first and foremost. But I think against the bigger sides, they'll need to employ a similar counter-attacking style and Lukaku will be a real handful in those. Possession football isn't his game, but you can see how deadly he is when he doesn't need to get involved in build up play and is given 1 on 1 chances.
