Romelu Lukaku vs Alvaro Morata 2017/18

He has went 27 games without scoring for Juve.

There is a bit of a way to go be for he's completely assed out.

:nono: But he scored 20 goals as a substitute with a better goals/min ratio than Messi...

Still a donkey

Still think?

There’s no thinking. When Morata and Lukaku play a key part in their teams lifting leagues like Costa did for Atletico and Chelsea then they’d maybe challenge Costa.
Hes definitely better but not everyone will agree. That's why I put it as an opinion.

Morata won't be at Chelsea for long. Poor mentality and obviously never wanted to leave Madrid.

Still think Costa is better than both. Especially when it really matters.

That was Chelsea's biggest mistake.
Costa is in a different stratosphere to the other two. We def should have put in a cheeky bid last season. Costa did so much for that Chelsea team. Morata has the diving part down but the strength, hold-up play, vision and finishing are lacking.

Costa and Mourinho had that falling out at Chelsea. Although it did seem to have been repaired recently.

Morata will either go back home to Italy or a return to La Liga

Mourinho and Mata were also supposed to be mortal enemies.

I can't blame them for selling Costa, to be honest. He was trying to leave every transfer window and was regularly sulking and not playing well whenever he wasn't happy. You can't persist with his kind.

I suspect Juventus will come looking WHEN Dybala leaves.

He insisted on leaving the safe haven this summer because he thought he was good enough to be a leading striker for a top club. Can't fault the guy for trying, but mentality is a problem (it was already talked about back when he was at Juventus).

I dont see why he ever returned to Real.

Wasn't leading the line at Juve. Was unlikely to at an even better club.

But wasn't Conte partly to blame for that?

Costa isn't an easy personality but the way Conte treated him isn't the greatest.
Well, I obviously don't know the behind-the-scenes but I think Costa admitted that he wanted to leave, several times, for no other reason than being homesick. I don't know what you do from there, as a manager.

Also, I'm pretty sure he fell out with Mourinho, as well, and was particularly useless on the pitch for months, during that period.

He did fall out with Mourinho. But he claimed last Summer that Jose was sending him messages when he was banished by Conte. So they might have made up.

Don't understand the homesick part. The guy is Brazillian! Reminds me of the time Tevez was homesick and then moved to Italy.

Tevez is from Argentina. :)
Know what you mean though.

Yeah i think so too, you know how italians always never want to leave their home country.

Yeah, they're probably fine now. I'm just saying I wouldn't blame a manager or club for whatever Costa does. Sometimes you get these headcases that are not in your control, no matter what you do.

That would be a downgrade.

Tevez was the one leading the line when Morata was still there. Morata is not a classical 9 imo. Not a title winning one anyway.
Its italy and his home town, he will do well. Higuain will lead the line, he will probably play as the 10.

This thread is pretty much done and dusted. Lukaku isn't better than the likes of Kane and Aguero but he's definitely better than Morata. 12 goals in the whole season now (+30 games) is a disastrous record.

Can sense a trap here

Edit: the Brazilian I was talking about is Costa though.
I know. Was thinking you started with Brazilian Costa but I read it as if the statement "he's a Brazilian" counted for Tevez. Could be the drugs or my bad humor, but I laughed.

Think Morata will be better next season. He's more of a poacher type forward, Chelsea aren't really set-up for that kind of striker. Little tweaks to the overall style of team play and having a year's experience in the Premier League will help him.

I dont see why he ever returned to Real.

He didn't want to come back to Madrid, but he had to because that's how the agreement was structured. He was sold to Juve for 20 mil € with buy back set on 27 mil € (I think that was the number).

Costa is a league above both. With ease. How can anyone disagree?

Its often said when a player moves out of the league/retires you appreciate just how good they were. costa is one of them

He's not a poacher type forward.

Not sure why Conte lost all the trust on his lead striker and not even starting him against big teams. Sitting on the bench won't improve his confidence and game, also in a way he is limiting Hazard's game too.
