Would be a huge signing. My only worry would be the potential injury problems down the line. He's played a lot of football since the age of 16 I believe?
I'm pretty sure he's played 300 matches now. I'm not sure how many his age can match that. Neymar maybe?

Yep as he's much better than Mata at right of a front 3 gives us pace and movement and would link up with Martial. I'd take Danny in a heart beat

Except no he isn't, unless you're happy with wingers who don't score goals then you can as well just throw Depay there.

£45m and we don't include Rooney?
Bit better.

I only think he's worth 40m atm tbh. I'd say Rooney is 10-15m. 50m and and Rooney is ridiculous.

This is where valuation gets murky. Rooney's high wage demands mean that we're unlikely to see much of a fee when we do finally decide to offload him.

Yup. One of the most extreme gaps between performance levels and wages at the top level that i can remember. Would be a strange situation for Everton to get a lesser player in the trade but still end up paying him higher wages.

Why is it ridiculous? he's statistically the hottest striker in the league and only 22 to boot. If he were our property and Real came in for him, we'd be wanting 60mill minimum.
Also Rooney's wage will bring any fee down, similar you'd presume to how we offloaded RVP & Nani.

It's ridiculous imo because he isn't worth that amount.

He's probably not worth it, but he'll cost it. Everton paid £28m for him and he's a better player now than he was when they paid it, and on higher wages.
I think 40m is more that a fair price. Like I said, 50m plus Rooney is just ridiculous.

Its tough to determine who's worth what in the current climate. Fees seem to be rising every summer.

With the amount Everton invested in him, his age, record and the lack of quality strikers around at the moment I think £60m sounds about right.

Everton paid 28m for him. He has come on since their purchase, but only recently. He did go through a very dry spell not too long ago iirc? another 32m on top of the 28 they paid for him seems a bit much to me if I'm honest mate. I think 40/45 is pretty bang on for him as he is.

It would be £60m I presume, considering there are no good strikers available and that Everton are a rich club and don't have to sell.

This. They overpaid for him which means anyone that tries to buy him now will have to overpay too. The same thing happened with Fellaini, by the time they were selling him he was probably only worth what they had actually bought him for in the first place.

A player in red hot form will always command a pretty hefty premium, with current transfer fees spiralling and the influx of money into the league from the TV deals, sides outside the top 4 are as stronger as ever when it comes to transfers. It will take in excess of 50mil to sign him I bet.

Offer them 60 million and I'm pretty certain it will be too good to turn down for them.

I'd rather have Valencia at right wing than Mata he's just awful in that position

But Martial is worth £40m? (Or whatever we paid for him or will eventually pay for him?!)

Whether we like it or not, football fees are set on qualitative precedent. The fees for players like Sterling, Martial and De Bryne are the current benchmark for young talented attacking players in the EPL.

Lukaku is in the same ballpark as Kane right now, perhaps slightly less to PL clubs because he does not help fill any CL quota requirements.

In the current ballpark, Everton should be thinking £45m+, especially if they don't have to sell him to balance their balance sheet.

Wish louis got his wish and signed him in the summer. Lots of people on here hating the idea ! I think he's a top class striker of a certain way of playing. Don't think he's a hoofball striker, but he certainly wasn't great with the ball coming into his feet, and still isn't great. Be nice if he got on the end of some of our crosses tho

Was lukewarm on him until 2/3 weeks ago.
Young, PL proven, a beast - sounds like someone we could use.

Torn between him and Kane though.

Lukaku does qualify as home grown though?

Think Kane"s better and has more potential but I'd still happily take Lukaku.

I don't buy the argument for Kane having more potential than Lukaku. Not to say that Kane is an average footballer but Lukaku has shown more promise since his teenage years than Kane has this season. In my opinion, Lukaku is a level above in terms of ability and has more attributes that complement his game.

weve been rumoured to be sniffing about at Felipe Anderson for £35m, yet people think spending 40-45m on Lukaku would be ridiculous?

In fairness most people (other than andersons agent) seem to think £35m is ridiculous
But I'd personally not be concerned at paying £50m for Kane or lukaku
