We have to deal with Raiola again if we want Lukaku.

I think the arrangement is that Ed just stands bent over his desk with his pants down and Mino just pops in for a lube-free session whenever it takes his fancy.

Can you imagine we do this stupid thing and then Jose falls out with him and then we're stuck? Didn't Jose have problems with him?

It would be closer to £160M since Morata is going for something like 75M Euros. Shouldn't be unthinkable knowing that we are cash generating machine pretty much, with healthy fundamentals.

The cost aside, signing 2 strikers for a system which requires only 1 will cause more problems than it's worth. Not to mention the message that would send to Rashford and Martial whom would probably be devastated by the idea.

It's got to be one or the other.

United and Everton doing each other a favour in trying to shake both Chelsea and Madrid

Somehow I feel like if Mou was gonna get another striker it would be Belotti. Just doesn't feel like Lukaku is suited to a 2 up top
Yes, in that you're right. Lukaku is the one who mostly plays alone.

Raiola leak to get Chelsea to pay up asap is my view on this.

If we were going to pay that much for a striker, I think we would just give Torino the £80M for Belotti.

That Mourinho is crazy about buying him, after he let him go at Chelsea, is a bit weird…
De Bruyne, Bonucci, Salah, Bertrand? Jose is not known for his patience with youth. In fairness he usually ends up at clubs intent on trying to bring instant trophies with heavy spending meaning few chances for talented kids

Look, why are people so sure Mourinho won't try anything other than a one striker system, we he explicitly said he could do it, namely to accommodate Rashford? What was Griezmann coming for, to play on the wing? And Monaco doesn't fit your narrative, for instance.
I never said Mourinho is not changing his system. I specifically wrote that if we are changing to a two strikers system, it indeed constitutes a legitimate reason to buy those two. I have no idea what Mourinho is planning to do, nor am I particularly fussed to be honest. Monaco doesn't prove anything, one top season doesn't make you a top team and even if it did, one team out of the many others does not change the narrative, it merely points to being not an absolute, something I never suggested.

No. He wanted games so he asked to leave, as far as I am aware. Like Pogba with Sir Alex.
I read on one Chelsea forum that he ignored Jose's advice about how to take some penalty or the other, thought he knew better and then proceeded to miss it.
I can see that attitude going down well with jose

So wouldn't Rashford's future as a striker be shot to shit if you signed 2 young, ultra expensive forwards? When would he ever get serious playing time in his actual position since we all know Mou rarely rotates in the important competitions?

Why would you want to imagine that?

They didn't have any issues, he was just a kid that wanted to be first choice and needed to move to be in that role.

He was complimentary to Mourinho after he left and thanked him for not standing in his way.

Highly doubt it myself, I was just trying to make a point that from financial perspective it should not matter much to us. However, if we do end up signing both I reckon Mourinho is looking at Madrid tactics and their duo in Benzama and Ronaldo (he's CF now) in action, which made them so successful recently.

That seems far-fetched to me. It's just a penalty. Element of luck counts a lot.

He's a good player and I think he'd do well here but paying close to £170m for Morata and Lukaku is...well I can't really articulate how insane it would be.

Pexbo - £100M for Lukaku?? How can you get your head around that, the guy is not that good. Yes, he showed up in the 2nd half of the season, but where the feck was he in the first half of the season for Everton? £100M for a half season player?

The fact was he ignored what Jose told him to do. The Chelsea fans would also know better than us I would think.

I think Kane would be £120m ish. £200 is Messi money.
Dealing with levy at spurs is like dealing with the spanish inquisition. And kane just isnt available. Theyre in a far stronger position than when they sold bale.

In last years 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 he could still be the main option for the leftwing. In 4-4-2 he would fight not only with those two, but also with Martial, for the 2 upfront positions, which is good competition for a top team, if you ask me.

Can't see Jose swapping out a system that has brought him unparalleled success over so many years. Could be wrong though, maybe he thinks it's time for a change.

Still, 2 top tier strikers in the same window? Seems a huge stretch even for United.

We aren't signing him, you guys are.

That sound quite petty tbh. He could have followed advice and still missed or on another day his own choice ends up in the back of the net. If it were me I'd go with my own intuition as well.

No way is he worth 100 million pounds. We must be desperate if we are even thinking of throwing that kind of money for him.
