just wait till chelsea announce lukaku and Morata stays at Real Madrid. Then we'll see whose celebrating when have no targets for no.9
If we can't get the right striker this summer then I'd rather a stopgap like Llorente or even Chicharito for a season over paying 80M+ for Lukaku to then be stuck with him for years and years.

Zlatan would also hopefully be back in the new year.

If it means we're getting Morata instead I'm gutted. Proven class young PL striker, don't know why anyone wouldn't want him.

Much prefer Morata. Especially at half the price

Morata has openly stated that he wants to stay in Madrid. The celebration in this thread are crazy. There's no indication that morata is even possible and we are celebrating a title rival picking up a 20+ goal striker. Utterly insane. :wenger::wenger::lol:

It seems that United fans are divided wether Lukaku or Morata would be a preferred choice. Lukaku will most probably go to Chelsea. They are the current champions and he has unfinished business there. If we compare the two, simply by statistics, Lukaku is more of a certainty to score goals then the latter.

He's the best striker available this summer, it's a shame he's going to Chelsea, but what can you do.

Not at all. There are many that want Lacazette. Some that want Belotti, Some that want us to blow £100m+ on Kane or Mbappe. I'll be excited regardless of who we sign to be totally honest. It will obviously be someone Mourinho sees as an ideal fit for his strategy.

That is correct. The comment was within the context of a scenario whereby either Morata or Lukaku had to be chosen. Obviously there are other targets which have been 'reported'.

If we could get Morata without losing De Gea, it would be a no brainer. Depending on the fee here, i would have taken Lukaku too, if it means keeping Dave.

Have doubts about his technical ability but he will score goals no matter which team he will play for.

Around £70m is a very fair price given his age and goal record.

It's is 2017.

Not 2015.

Not 2013...

Lukaku to Chelsea, Lacazette agreed for Atleti to replace Torres, Auba going to PSG, no one in their right mind would touch Belotti for the money quoted....

That basically only leaves Morata. I really hope we get it done.

Belguim's version of Wellbeck...no thanks!
he isn't worth the money but he is quality. 60 odd league goals in about 140 everton games? Great return considering the quality of team mates. Think at a top club he'd rattle them in

Wouldn't have minded him here, he is a proven goalscorer. I think he is the type of player Jose would like leading the line, but his style doesn't excite me terribly. Quality #9's don't grow on tree's so I worry if this goes through at anything around £70m, the prices we will be quoted for alternatives will go through the roof.

I do wonder how much better Lukaku makes Chelsea's first XI? No doubt he will surpass Costa in the next few years, but I think it's a tough comparison looking at next season alone. Suppose that's the benefit of being champions, you are replacing quality players with quality.

Some of the people in here talking shit like Lukaku is Welbeck or Fellaini standard :wenger: Such nonsense. If he's going to Chelsea that'll add even more goals to their team. I'd definitely have rathered Lukaku than Morata. Far more confident in a Premier League-proven goalscorer who consistently gets over 20 goals a season. Morata's good but frankly I think he's a downgrade on Ibrahimovic. Also, there's no way that Lukaku's price will actually be £100m with only 1 year left on his contract. It will be £70m max, and he's worth that in the current market.

From all no9s available right now( lukaku, kane, belotti, lacazette) for me zlatan is twice better then all of them.

Why is everyone a welbeck.. I mean seriously.
The other day i saw someone calling lacazette a french welbeck, morata is spanish welbeck, now lukaku is belgian welbeck. Why always welbeck? :D

If in the unlikely event he joins us then i am prepared to change my comment to "the Belguim Henry" but for now his touch is shiite and bottles it in the big games.

Happy to see him go to Chelsea for £90m.

United going to get Morata for £50m and score more goals than him next year

I really want him at United.

This transfer window is going to be a harsh one for us muppets.

He'd fit right in at United tbf, did you see the sitter he missed last night?

the way we are celebrating a title rival potentially getting a 20+ goal scorer and blindly hoping to buy a Madrid player that openly speaks about wanting to stay in spain is mind boggling.:lol:

I didn't, no...

I think he'd be great for us personally, but I'll wait to see what Jose and Woody have up their sleeves before throwing my toys out of the pram.
