Unless Costa is going, there's no way Chelsea will sign Lukaku, especially for that price.

If we want really want Lukaku, then we'll get him. No other team out there that needs a top striker, who can offer him the money we can and CL football.

He will guarantee us over 20 league goals, in my opinion. Him and a top winger (probably be Perisic) and we'll be set. Ideally, I'd want us to sign two wingers, but, doesn't look like it will happen.

Best friends with Pogba, we need a new striker, CL football, pay him good money, biggest club in the world.

It's a no brainer, Romelu!

I'd only want him in the team until Zlatan is back.....no one available is going to change that.

This. Lukaku is my biggest want this summer. He would be amazing for United. And he's only 23. He can be Mourinho's new Drogba

I could be wrong, but having a high BMI doesn't necessarily mean that you're fat, as it doesn't take into account those with high muscle mass.

Correct. Competition bodybuilders stage ready for competition are classed as morbidly obese using BMI. Amongst other faults, it's a shitty method of determining any kind of fitness.

I get your point but bodybuilders probably have low fitness levels and high blood pressure though

He will go to Chelsea.

Chelsea will sell Costa to Atletico in January or next summer.

Griezman may well sign for us then. Maybe.

We'll target Morata instead, and get James too using some of the saved money it would have cost if we'd gone for Luk or Griez.

I think at this stage I'll be happy with Morata and James. There's not many options out there to be honest.

2 Real cast-offs...!? 2 PL unproven Real cast-offs...

That's so fecking uninspiring if it happens.

Can we please just go all out for Harry Kane and have done with it. 20+ PL goals three years running. That's all we need to know really. Proven in the PL unlike many other potential targets and with a great attitude unlike Lukaku's constant undermining of Everton.

We supposedly have massive financial power so go out and buy the top English striker who has just secured another golden boot. I have no doubt that Kane would've been targeted and bought in the Fergie era.

Lukaku flatters to deceive. He is nowhere near the level of Kane or Costa. I personally think it would be a huge mistake if Man Utd tried to buy him but thats just my opinion . Lukaku seems to know where he is going and the general opinion is that it's back to Chelsea. What does that mean for Costa?

Yes, according to BMI, I was obese at age 17-18, 6'4 and 215 pounds, at around 7% body fat. BMI is useless.

He won't necessarily score the same amount of goals - or more - for United as he has done for Everton. We play differently, and opposition teams play differently against us than Everton. There's no guarantee his player type would be a success here, and personally I'd prefer another type of striker.

How much money do you think it would take? The situation is quite different from when Fergie was in charge and you were a place most footballers wanted to go.

and you think that Kane wants to join United or that Spurs would sell to us?

What makes you think Kane even wants to join us? He's in a team that is young, vibrant, well managed, his home club, and has been performing in a different class to us for the past 3 seasons.

Considering we just made a bid for Morata it would be safe to assume that Lukaku to Chelsea is a done deal. Unless Zlatan has did he won't return and we are buying Lukaku and Morata.

Some of the money being quoted is nuts ! £100m for Lukaku, £78m for Reals third choice striker. It makes the £35m we spent on Martial look bargain basement and I thought at the time that was a ridiculous over spend and a bit panic stricken near the end of the window.

This window seems to be turning a bit sour for us with first Griezeman and now Lukaku looking like slipping away from us. I don't think Jose is going to be a happy bunny with Ed when he returns from his hols!

 There is no correlation there, and BMI has nothing to do with fitness or blood pressure. It's a straight height vs weight comparison which is flawed on so many levels. It literally has nothing to do with anything and it's a stupid measurement.

80M for a guy with a dodgy first touch and suspect technique???? A guy of his size, who's crap at playing with his back to goal? Are you kin kidding me?!?!?!

Lukaku is a good striker. But he's not a world beater. Market is absolutely gone crazy with the prices quoted in the press these days. I wonder what a 22 year old Messi or Ronaldo the fat would cost in todays market.

Sky say united had an initial interest but it did not materialize into anything.

Unsurprising. I don't think Mourinho was ever extremely keen on him.

Lukaku really loves Chelsea, btw. I remember a Belgian interview or an article back in the day where he said his main reasoning for learning English was to play for Chelsea.
