What about Lacazette then? He too said waiting out for 6 months in order to join Atletico in January is not a problem.
Costa and Lacazette willing to wait 6 months for Atlético. Griezmann willing to sit out a year in order not to screw Atlético.

In the meantime, nobody wants to come here.

:annoyed::lol::(

I can't believe that people have already been missing Rooney's atrocious first touch so much that now they want this guy to get signed for the ridiculous amounts mentioned.
He is maybe 2-3 levels above a guy like Benteke but he is still quite limited in his play. For 35-40 million tops I would say give it a try but what people fail to understand is if we pay 70 plus million for Lukaku then we are signing on for the sort of football required to get the best from him for at least the next 5-6 years. Which I have to say is not too easy on the eye.
A lot of people want more fluid attacks and cohesive attacking football on the whole but this is totally the opposite of what a Lukaku type of striker thrives at.
I cannot even imagine his performance thread if he gets signed and the amount of people who will be hugely surprised when they notice that his first touch and linkup play is not of any use for a team like us and where we would want to get in said 5-6 year timespan.

I think he's amazing and you would do very well, if you were to get him. Perfect replacement for Zlatan imo. Used to play as a lone striker and has scored tonnes for a very mediocre Everton. He would score tonnes for you guys

The more I think about it the more I wake Lukaku and with how much of a flat track bully he is we'd win the majority of those drawn games from last season comfortably, regularly one of the top scorers in the league with a mid table club and less chances so think he'd regularly score 20+ league goals a season for us.

Lukaku and Rashford are also so different as strikers that we'd have variety so if one style doesn't work in a game we can change it up with the other one and then there's also Martial too who again is different to both, we lack genuine goal scoring and variety as well as proven goals in the league so Lukaku should be who we go for as a striker.

If Lukaku goes to Chelsea he'll bang 30 goals in next season and people here will be asking why we didn't sign him.
But what about when he fails to do the business in the latter stages of the CL?

This.

It baffles me how much he's being underappreciated on here.

Chelsea are so funny. Sell a player for £28m and buy him back for £100m. How badly run can one club be?

What a hilarious joke!

Who was the funny man that decided to let him go? Sounds like he must have been a real, real idiot.

How very humorous this all is! It has elicited a veritable cascade of chuckles from myself!

Is it just me or anyone else think he could've reached 30 goals this season if Bolasie haven't got injured?

It's very arrogant of us to think we don't need a player who is banging in goals for fun in the Premier League and is still very young.

Sure he went off the boil a little bit towards the end of the season but when is the last time we had a player scoring four goals in a game?

He's a much lower risk signing than Morata for me, even if he is going to be over-priced.

You being sarcastic?

Be gutting if we don't get him.

I was hoping qualifying for the CL would HELP us get players...

I also think he suits Chelsea better than us. With their wingbacks and Hazard/Pedro/Willian buzzing in and around the CF he'll be great. Plus, they're much better than us and he's been there before so it makes complete sense for him to repfer Chelsea.

True, plus he has worked with a lot of players and burned a few bridges so you'd never know.

Yes, Pepe being the latest example. World class CB that we could get for free, his experience and winning mentality would do wonders for our defense but he's on bad terms with Mourinho.

It's a strange one this, it's definitely between united and Chelsea that I'm sure of but Costa has said time and time again he's happy at Chelsea. I don't see him moving anywhere. I can't see them benching costa so Lukaku wouldn't fit their system, I can't see why they'd change the tactics when they worked so well last season.

I'd love him here so I hope it's us.

Please be United...although Chelsea must be favourites.

Someone on the /r/reddevils subreddit is saying he's just started following Cahill and Kante on twitter :(

Don't really want us signing him, would much prefer Morata.

Have a feeling he'll flop at Chelsea.

just wait till chelsea announce lukaku and Morata stays at Real Madrid. Then we'll see whose celebrating when have no targets for no.9

In those circumstances, I imagine the club would pay Torino's asking price for Belotti.

This, we'd want to sort out our number 9 soon or there will be none left.
