In fairness, IF he chooses Chelsea, what have the club really done wrong here? We've bid for a player who had, quite obviously, given us encouragement to do so. If his head has been turned (again) then so be it. Not everyone wants to play for us. Chelsea have a quite obvious pull where he's concerned. If he was our first choice, it's only right that we try to see that through while it's still feasible.

The worst you could really level at us would be the briefing of the press before actually doing the deal. But, let's be honest, how often does a deal like this get done without someone getting wind of it?

Well i expected this. It was logical thing to do from chelsea. Don't know why you all thought yesterday it is done.
Now it is not about signing a player anymore, this is more than that. Imagine reactions if he signs for chelsea. Funny pictures, clips, gifs...
Bloody hell.

I'd be shocked if both Raiola and Woodward would agree to this without knowing Lukaku was convinced.

Raiola damages a lucrative relationship, while Woodward fudges the Morata deal.

Because you've randomly decided to pluck a deadline out of your arse?

Just happens to be the date when the squad travel to US and with being Lukaku being in LA already this should be an easy deal to get over the line.

I haven't made any assumptions. I just spoke about an unwillingness to play for Mourinho when you started throwing your mindreading bullshit all over the park. Obviously I don't know what Lukaku is thinking, but if you can throw bullshit, so can I.
Hasn't Lukaku said that he really respects Mourinho. You are only assuming that he might not want to play for Mourinho.

Current state:

United bid (£75m + Rooney + waiver owed fees for 2 players + required agent fees)
Chelsea bid (£75m)

Given that the agent fees are surely written into any contract Lukaku signs, how can Chelsea sign him but decide that they don't want to pay required agent fees?

Abramovich managed to get the Russian government to give him a gas company for next to nothing. I'm sure he can probably find a way to resolve the Raiola issue.

Exactly. All we did was establish the "price". Any club can then match it and it's down to the player.

If he does end up at Chelsea, 90% of the journalists are going to bloody love it. Field day for them......
And they would also look like twats for once again getting a transfer wrong.

I really hope we do end up getting him, think he'd be absolutely brilliant for us. But if he goes to Chelsea then so be it, he's not that good anyway, his first touch is shit and he never scores against the top 6.

The worse was that we have ended a certain whites player pursuit.

Lukaku and Pogba are best mates but that doesnt mean he will chose United over Chelsea.

Raiola will be trying to get him to chose United for agent fees. No doubt Pogba will be trying to convince him to chose for United aswell.

I also think United will offer a bigger Wage.

I don't know if Everton has or will accept the Chelsea offer if it only matches ours. Rooney deal seems to be seperate from this but may create some goodwill for United.

Could go anyway and it all Comes down to what Lukaku wants. But I know I'll be gutted if he will pick Chelsea over us. I wouldnt Care too much if we were not interested in the first place but when you make such a big fuss about it and than end up missing out it will sting like a bitch.

Somewhat afraid to go to sleep to wake up on the morning seeing news everywhere that he chose Chelsea. :(

Chelsea are clearly committed too - they are happy to match the bid. They were just busy trying to tie up full backs at the same time. I don't think Lukaku will think adversely towards that, especially given they're a club he supports and has fond memories of.

He can go back, or he can return to the manager that sold him off showing little faith. It's an obvious choice if it were solely down to him. Raiola may well turn him red though.

Full of assumptions and inaccuracies.

There is a lot of drama queens in this thread. :) Lukaku is training with Pogba in US, waiting for a medical and papers to be sorted to join the rest of the squad on the tour. We made public announcement of the accepted bid and public announced that we are ending Morata pursuit. We are getting him.

Followed by Henry winter, Tony barret(Liverpool echo), Kaveh solhekol(Sky sports), Don rolan (BBC Sports editor)
Very good on transfers for everton.

Not really concerned. These footballers/agents and their egos. Let them bid 75million. Why not? It's nice to have two bids accepted even if you have made your choice. Lots of players don't end up playing for their 'childhood' club.

i can categorically state, Lukaku is going Chelsea, we been used, Everton get their mitts on Rooney as some sort of artificial bad for your health sweetener and we're left in the dog house.

It's not all bad, at least Rooney would be gone. Own Goal has had his difficult second season and he'll be like a new signing next year.

He might be thinking he has a better chance at winning a trophy with Chelsea because their title holders. Does he get on with Fellaini?

The thread title doesnt make sense, both of them suggest to him signing for Chelsea. Any suggestions before I go forward with Redelu or Bluekaku thing?

Not exactly. Just because Chelsea offer the same money doesn't mean Everton have to accept it. They may feel selling him to Chelsea would put their signing of Rooney in jeopardy for instance.
