Oh of course. Perhaps i had rose tinted glasses but when i were a kid united appeared to be every player's first choice.
There were always cases of us being subbed. Shearer, Kluivert...

Chelsea can't "swoop in" when United are the ones who swooped in and hijacked Lukaku.

Not our fault they thought they'd be the only bidders and eventually get him at cheaper than what Everton was wanting. And now they're in desperation/excuse mode caught with their pants on the ground. You snooze you lose:devil::lol:

You've signed him already? Congrats.

What if this is all a smokescreen just to help out EFC sell Lukaku at a great price, and in return they will take Rooney off our hands?

Could be that Lukaku is a smokescreen for Chelsea's long time target Wayne Rooney.

The more I think about it...

Completely relaxed about this. He's on holiday with Pogba discussing the transfer. He's a United played.

You made out Lukaku won't pick United due to Mourinho selling him.

You have no idea about their relationship as if you did you wouldn't have posted such nonsense. You got it wrong and jumped to conclusions.

No, I made it out that Lukaku firstly prefers his boyhood club and would prefer a return to Chelsea than Man Utd. You started talking utter garbage about him "not feeling loved" and would snub Chelsea because of a late bid.

I then pointed out Mourinho sold him and that would play on his mind. Not that I know what's on his mind, but you had no problem guessing so I thought I'd use your (daft) logic against you.

Thing is...if Chelsea wanted him so much.....believing he wanted to go to them....why didn't they make a bid earlier? Just seems a bit panicky at the last minute.....

They wanted to offload Costa first.

Always defended PB, but feck me; he's like that drunken mate in the pub who just won't shut the feck up.

Go home, get some sleep, already!

What an idiot. At this point if Lukaku signs for Chelsea it is because he would prefer it. This no longer has anything to do with how good Woodward is at his job.

Current state:

United bid (£75m + Rooney + waiver owed fees for 2 players + required agent fees)
Chelsea bid (£75m)

Given that the agent fees are surely written into any contract Lukaku signs, how can Chelsea sign him but decide that they don't want to pay required agent fees?
we paid the agent to 'sell' Utd to him. If Lukaku, who also pays his agent, says he wants Chelsea and nothing is going to change my mind, then all Chelsea need is to pay what everton want, and not the agent

I'm the only one offering any facts. You're just making incorrect assumptions.

Isnt Raiolas percentage set in stone? Im pretty sure you can't just decide to not pay an agent and I can't see Everton footing the bill.
Has Everton even accepted the bid?

There'll be some deluded Evertonian somewhere who still thinks he's staying.

If the Chelsea bid has not been accepted then legally they cannot approach him.

We need to know if the bid has been accepted.

Wrong. They just need Everton's agreement to talk with the player, they don't need an accepted bid.

Lukaku is still going to Chelsea apparently. His first touch took him to Man United for a minute but he's back on track now.

When was the medical arranged for ? Wasn't it today ? We didn't hear anything after that.

It shows the player who is committed to signing them.

Chelsea have been skimping on the fee and faffing around. No way to show a player that you value them and want them at the club.

He'll pick United.

Assumption 1) "Chelsea have been skimping on the fee". They matched our £75m bid.
Assumption 2) Lukaku will not feel valued because they took a long time in making a bid (farcical and daft, given they have full backs to recruit ahead of a striker and he'd obviously understand that).
Assumption 3) He'll pick United.

As I said, take 5. You're lost.

It would be a massive u turn as it wouldn't have been filtered out into the media if Utd wasn't sure they had their man. That said, we've seen last minute u turns before.

Can anyone clarify that Everton have accepted the Chelsea bid?

Anyone?
As per simon stone of bbc they have offered to match united's bid. So technically there is no bid. They just promised everton to pay a minimum of what we are paying just to get permission to talk to Lukaku legally.

This is fine. I wanted Morata anyway. The price for him will be hilarious now though.

Whoever decided to brief the media about our "deal" for Lukaku is an idiot.

I was referring to the JM and RL relationship.

You have made massive assumptions. Incorrect ones.

What happened with that?

Well he got Griezmann and Morata wrong. That said, in football anything can happen, so it's best to stay out of it tbh.

I am glad you have understood this. Sources privy to news can't always guarantee things and it's best to not blurt out info as guaranteed facts as it can bite you in the back. Not that I ever believed you but I can understand if you got caught up into it.

It did bite me in the back and it's not worth it. It's okay that you never believed me, but I am not a person who lie because I think it's funny. That's just not who I am.

I haven't made any assumptions. I just spoke about an unwillingness to play for Mourinho when you started throwing your mindreading bullshit all over the park. Obviously I don't know what Lukaku is thinking, but if you can throw bullshit, so can I.
