It did bite me in the back and it's not worth it. It's okay that you never believed me, but I am not a person who lie because I think it's funny. That's just not who I am.

Alright I believe you were not lying but merely got caught up. We move on now and enjoy this madness without the need to be transfer news Gods.

In fairness, IF he chooses Chelsea, what have the club really done wrong here? We've bid for a player who had, quite obviously, given us encouragement to do so. If his head has been turned (again) then so be it. Not everyone wants to play for us. Chelsea have a quite obvious pull where he's concerned. If he was our first choice, it's only right that we try to see that through while it's still feasible.

The worst you could really level at us would be the briefing of the press before actually doing the deal. But, let's be honest, how often does a deal like this get done without someone getting wind of it?

We look bad if we show to be interested and start banging the big Red Rom to United drum. Only for him to ditch us for Chelsea last minute.

Iam tired about Chelsea hijacking our deals, happened with Mikel, happened with Hazard, happened with Pedro if it now happens with Lukaku it will really look bad on the club yet again.

In all fairness, I expect this is wrapped up. And, while it's far fetched, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it eventually emerges that we somehow concocted a confirmation of Chelsea's late matching bid. In terms of marketing, we'll latch on to anything we can, and these sagas gain us so much press, and "getting one" over Chelsea in the window is quite clearly worth something, if only off the pitch, for now.

A certain Luke shaw was also a boy hood chelsea fan it was said, Ultimately you take a footballing decision.

Very good on transfers for everton.

Seems to have barely tweeted anything like this before. Probably just saw his chance for a few extra followers.

The agent fees thing sounds like bullshit. Also completely irrelevant.

It sounds like so that Chelsea can have an excuse of missing out on a player. Spending 90m on a player but not giving out agent fees after spending a lot on Hazard agent fees etc.

Give me a break.

He's blatantly going to be a Man Utd player guys.

This transfer has been worked on for a while, and we've clearly been talking to the player / agent as have Chelsea. If there was any prospect of him going to Chelsea we'd not have leaked the bid, he was obviously aware the choice was Chelsea or Utd and he chose Utd hence everything going public.

This stinks of a PR stunt by Chelsea, getting their excuses in early that they tried to sign him but his agent was greedy.

The thread title doesnt make sense, both of them suggest to him signing for Chelsea. Any suggestions before I go forward with Redelu or Bluekaku thing?
A better pun?

It is misleading but I assumed the Hazard V2 was more in relation to the fact that Chelsea won't pay the agent fee like we wouldn't for Hazard?

Or Hazard v2 that we missed out on him and he signed for Chelsea.

More encouraging tweets.

That is done now. He has been Everton's go to man on leaking news and putting things in media. He is basically has ear up at Everton's board. VERY confident now.

THis is turning into mini saga. Wheres that Olly fella? Should make those gifs again. Matrix red or blue pill scene or something like that...

Seems we increased the offer according to Jim.

I know Ed won't let himself getting embarrassed.

He might be thinking he has a better chance at winning a trophy with Chelsea because their title holders. Does he get on with Fellaini?

He gets on with all belgian players but they have those at Chelsea aswell. But it is nothing like Pogba, they are really close. But not sure how much that will play into his descision. It is pretty established that Chelsea is lukaku's boyhood club.

Don;t talk about transfers every - but on an embarrassing scale this is a 3/10

This is nothing more than Chelsea being small time wankers briefing media that they've only missed out on him because if his greedy agent. Quite sad really.
