Would be truly shambolic from us if this went tits up from here.
We can't stop Chelsea matching our offer though can we? At the end of the day we also can't stop him choosing Chelsea over us if that is what he desires.

They haven't matched out offer if they've offered £75m. Our offer is £75m + £15m + Rooney

Chelsea matched the 75 million bid according to the beeb.

Interesting.

This was always going to happen. It has only been reported that Everton accepted our bid - nothing to stop other clubs matching that offer now they know the "price". Up to the player after that.

Once he gets a tour of OT, he will be balling his eyes out Verratti style, and not just feel like crying like in the above video.
Depends who gives him the tour. I know the tour guide who gave Aaron Ramsey, Arjen Robben and Gareth Bale tours of OT when we were courting them. Surely no coincidence none of them signed after being shown around by the miserable sod.

Conte is seething and they are trying to appease the nutty Italian.

Rom will be a Red Devil by Sunday evening.

Yeah, I think it's mostly this. So they can claim to Conte that 'we did everything within our powers' but the agent had been bribed by United.

So many aspects of this transfer that is pleasing; we get a cracking goal scorer, plus weaken and derail the league champions and annoy the hell out of Madrid.

Woodward really getting the hang of this now.

£75 million isn't "matching United offer"

It's £25 million short of what United are paying.

The reported deal is £75 million +£15 million in ad ons and Wayne Rooney valued at £10 million.

That's before we talk about agent fees etc.

If Chelsea were committed to buying Lukaku then the bid from them should have arrived weeks ago rather than focusing on other targets. We have played our hand first and I still believe we are in pole position to sign him. Although he has strong ties to Chelsea and the reason he left Chelsea was Mourinho criticising his efforts. Hopefully agent Pogba is on the case though as there isnt much else available.

Too late from Chelsea imo, they should have completed the deal ages ago.

If news of Medical booked tonight is true then we will have a decision in next few hours.

They've accepted our bid. Chelsea can match our bid and they can accept that as well. Then it's up to Lukaku to choose. Surely?

He'll choose us. He and Pogba have spent the last however long dreaming about the pillow fights they're going to have in European hotels on CL away nights and enthusing about playing together. They've imagined the trophies they'll win together, the goals Pogba will assist and he'll score.

Don't care where he ends up really. If this is off, we go back to Morata.

There's nothing noble about Chelsea unless Mark Noble wants to switch London clubs. And matching an offer doesn't mean, as a few have already pointed out, accepting an offer. Pogba and Lukaku training together in LA and hanging out together seems like they are very relaxed with the outcome. And the fact that United fly out this weekend to LA is all too coincidental.

Regardless, I'm not too bothered about this. Going through the Falcao transfer loan and with Pogba last year has me very jaded on United transfers and transfers in general.

He's a Chelsea fan, so I expect them to get him.

Still think Morata will happen even after all this. The player wants to play more than anything.

Why does the BBC say they were told tht United made a bid on Thursday? Theybare literally pretending they never said a big was accepted.

If he wants to go to Chelsea the agent fee is hardly going to sway him.

United nust have known chelsea would match the offer. If not We need a new CEO

Why is everyone so confident about the 75m bid being accepted!! There has been no word from Utd or Everton saying a bid has been accepted! Therefore there can't have been a medical for Utd..But everyone seems to think it's in the bag. Bid accepted(usually confirmed by both club's)-followed by personal terms and medical is the route that Utd have always used in terms of transfers in the media. I think this is far from over or am I missing something?
