Mirror's take on the bid. They are very non committal and look to be reporting it just as a contact to ask about Lukaku.

Chelsea have contacted Romelu Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola to ask if they can still clinch a deal for the £75million striker.
The Belgian appeared set for a move to Manchester United after undergoing a medical in Los Angeles.But Chelsea have refused to accept defeat in their bid to bring the player back to Stamford Bridge for a second spell.They still hope they can beat their Premier League rivals to Lukaku’s signature.Everton, meanwhile, are unhappy Lukaku breached club rules by failing to report back to their training ground this week.

They were both on holiday in the USA last year too. Wouldn't read that much into it.

It would probably be the most incredible turn around in a deal I can remember if it doesn't come off
 
Well if Everton didn't accept the bid we said they accepted then it doesn't matter if Chelsea match it, right?

Or did we claim he was worth £10m into the Lukaku deal in the end?

If Everton did screw us over though, all future deals with them need to be banned.
 
Now it means even more important to sign him. Would be a shame to lose out to Chelsea like this. No matter where lukaku goes, he will improve that team immensely.
