Always knew there was a chance that United would go for him. Saw that Pogba spent a lot of time last year, and this summer on vacation with him.

He's averaged 21.5 goals the last two seasons with Everton. We must make a good 30/50% more chances. I see no way he doesn't get at least 30 goals all comps for us.

He's a very hard worker and he will only be getting better

Mhky - Pogba - Mata
Herrera - new dm
Rojo - Bialy - Smaloff - Valencia

We're looking very good. That's a physical imposing side
The wings are fecking shit.

what a great signing this is, proven premiership goal machine

Quite annoying. Either announce it or get fecked. The lack of confirmation could kill a muppet.

His touch is awful, and I do fear for him in the CL.

70 of his 85 goals have come against those currently outside the top 6. If you take away all his goals last season Everton would still have finished 7th which is an incredible stat really.

So therefore he's scored 19% of his goals against the top 31% of the teams in the PL. Doesn't sound too bad to me. Clearly most strikers will score more goals against the weaker teams in the league.

Harry Kane scored 7 past Hull and Leicester at the end of season to win the golden boot, two poor teams, maybe those goals shouldn't count.

Sir, if your Coach prefers to play someone rather than you, means he does not believe in you.

Zidane does not trust Morata to be starter in the big games, because he knows Morata is not good enough.

And Madrid buybacked him not for being a future starter striker, no.

He is a backup for aging Ronaldo and Benzema. And may be for Bale which supposed to replace Ronaldo but currently fail to do it.

If both of them gone, Madrid will seach for other high profile striker. Like Mbappe right now.

As simple as that.

Either he has a future at Madrid or he has not but that is irrelevant in the discussion. Morata is a damn good player and him being a Madrid reject does not change that at all. Robben and Sneijder were also Madrid rejects...

It makes 0 sense to say Lukaku for Morata is a beter deal because one is a PL proven striker for Everton and the other is a player who is second choice to Benzema at Madrid. Morata at Everton would also be first choice and if you are scoring 15 goals in 1k minutes in la liga, you certainly are able to score 25 goals or more in the PL if you are given 3k+ minutes of playing time.

Madrid is just a worldclass team atm, not getting to play every single minute there is not something to be ashamed off or that means you must be a poor player.

Reason Madrid is asking £70m for him is because they don't want to sell him, it is also the reason he is not transferred to ACM. Zidane has asked Perez not to sell Morata because he wants him at Madrid and it is the reason they bought him back from Juve last year. Not a reject by any means, just a player that wants to move to another club to get more minutes

Yeah, but we're United. We only win that every few decades. Let's get back to winning title regularly before we think about Europe.

I'm hoping Lukaku will improve with better players around him. He will bag quite a few braces against bottom 10 sides, which will be useful in terms of goal difference and turning 1-1 draws into 3-1 wins.

I can't believe the reaction to this. I thought people would be over the moon but it seems most are complainin.

Why do you care about the fee? If the club feel they can spend £75m on a player who will get us 20-30 goals a season, I am fine with it. He's comfortably capable of hitting that and goals are worth a lot. He's also a very talented player, scored 25 goals in his last league season and 18 the season before at a young age. He's always been close to 1 in 2 ratio in Premier League and actually went to 2 in 3 last season. Drogba is said to be his idol and Drogba was not at this level at 24, he could still improve and if we are getting the next Drogba for £75m, I am over the moon with that.

Or United are using Lukaku to let Madrid know that they won't be ripped off.

We won't tell BBC a deal is done for Lukaku just to piss Madrid off.

I think Madrid just didn't want to sell Morata and were more than greedy so we decided to move on. I expect similar thing to Perisic btw unless Inter got the message clear and simple that no club is going to force us on anything.

I can understand not being ecstatic, but being a party pooper for the rest of us is baffling.

Lukaku is 24yo, already a proven PL top 5 scorer and will only get better. Mourinho can turn him into one heck of a player. Looking forward to it.
I imagine few of the posters walking around with a cloud over their heads like that donkey in Winnie the pooh.

Oh donkey,Lukaku, no pun intended.

We don't brief all the "united journos" with BS. There's a difference between running rumours about our signings and then 4 outlets reporting the same story at the EXACT same time.

We just don't work that was as a club.

Absolutely shocking. Serves all the Zlatan haters right, there going to beg for him back
Love Zlatan, wanted him to stay despite his injury but I'm very much sure you could make the exact same video with Zlatan from last season.

He's a realistic option really. We need a 20+ striker to replace Zlatan, and at 75million its good value. Harry Kane would also fit the bill but to hell with paying 200million to Levy.

He's also got the connections here with Pogba, Fellani, Mata etc. Hopefully he can flourish now with the attacking support and bang in 30+ goals, thats the dream.

Good.striker who is still young and PL experienced, just needs to sort his first touch a bit and can bag minimum 20 goals a season and still expect him to improve with Jose as coach.

We are gonna have some real tanks in the team next year with Lukaku, Pogba, Valencia, Fellaini and Bailly.

This could probably be a new thread but we could have zero English players in our main XI next season.

Lukaku

Rojo - Bialy - Lindoff - Valencia

Rojo isn't going to be a LB here. Jose already said he's bad in this place after Burnely away game. Mikhi and Mata will be on the RW only.

It'll be Shaw or Darmian, still your post has sense, and I'll love this.

Paying the same price we could have got Morata, I'm at a loss for words, mental.

Why not pay 75m for Lukaku who is a proven PL goal scorer instead of paying 80m for a guy who has never played in the PL? Lukaku guarantees 20+ goals for us.

Or United are using Lukaku to let Madrid know that they won't be ripped off.
If so, United have proper man for this job...

Pogba as #10 is not going to happen. Nor Mata and Mkhitaryan both on the wings. Rashford/Martial on the left.

I don't care about the fee. I care about whether he's right for united. I'm not convinced. For sure he will score goals but united must play to his strengths which means wingers, and getting him in behind. Which is totally not how we play anymore. If it's like for like to replace ibra then I fear he's not up to the role of being a hold up player and will quickly become a scapegoat for the fans

He's not going to be a direct number 10 yeah, but I said before he's going to be more pushed forward on the field more than the other midfielders.

I think we'll still sign a LW, but most probably not Perisic.

Love Zlatan, wanted him to stay despite his injury but I'm very much sure you could make the exact same video with Zlatan from last season.

It was a joke as you can get a compilation for even the best players having shocking touches. But Zlatan had so few terrible touches that I remember the ones he did have. Zlatan is technically better there is no point arguing about that.

Yeah, but Lukaku is pretty much a veteran at this stage due to his early exposure to first team football. He made his debut in 2009!

That might be a concern in the long term i.e. burnout. Rooney has suffered from it, and so has Cesc to a certain degree.

The thing about Drogba is, he's never been just about just goals. And his big game performances made up for any negatives. He was a very good link player and could hold up the ball for others. The ball doesn't always stay stuck when Lukaku receives it. Blind basically molested him the season before this one.

Drogba might have benefited from a slower career trajectory. He's still in good shape now at 39. Lukaku has a stockier frame to carry around.
