Romelu Lukaku | Napoli watch

It seems to be legit information from Garry Neville despite the skepticism towards Tancredi Palmeri because he actually liked the Tweet

So Lukaku is 104 kg? I was thinking 90-95 kg would be way too much for him, had no idea he was so grossly overweight. :wenger:

I’m 6 foot and was about 107kg a couple of months ago. It took a few weeks of eating right and going to the gym to drop to 100kg. Surely a professional footballer can do that.

Anyone remember playing the original 2D Gran Theft Auto?

Remember the lorries being one of the quickest vehicles in the game when you get them on a long straight and they start building momentum?

Sorry, a little off topic but it just popped into my head for some reason.
In Vice City if you were driving the tank and you rotatated the Canon and fired it continuously behind you, you could build up some serious speed.

There’s hope for him yet then with a rich diet of cannellini beans.

Lorries were best for running over those guys who walked about in a straight line. Cant remember now if they were gang members or a cult. You could get the lot in one go with a well aimed lorry.

It's blatantly obvious just from looking at him. Muscle, fat, bones it doesn't matter. He is far far too heavy to be a modern footballer.

Decision to bulk up surely wasnt his, doubt he is the one who came up with it. Advice had to come from some coach or something like that.

Problem is his weight gain took place while he already had the training schedule of a professional athlete. It's not like he hasn't being going to the gym over the last year, or doing cardio. He put on this bulk while training a lot more than you did to lose it. Which likely makes it trickier to shift, I suspect. Especially as his training is supposed to be designed to get him in peak condition to perform in a football match, not just to lose weight in whatever way he can.

He took his own advice about being grown ass man too literally.

Anyone who argued that he wasn't fat last year should be quoted.

He's just 6'4. He has no business being that heavy. I am 6'2 in average shape and only weigh 75 kg.
I’m not defending Lukaku, but muscles weight more than fat, and he has a lot of them. So it’s not really fair to compare him to an average man with a much bigger body fat percentage; I’m sure that he was much leaner at Everton though, I’d expect something closer to 90-95 kilos (quick googling tell me the same numbers).

That's exactly what popped into my head the first time I heard somebody mention his apparent speediness

Those things were fecking fast.

Despite all this, I still expect him to do well for them over the course of a season. You can be sure Conte will whip him into better shape, and as striker and manager they're made for each other. Might turn into a transfer that works out sell for everyone involved, which would make a nice change.

People aren’t arguing that he wasn’t big due to too much muscle gain, but you wouldn’t compare him to someone who’s actually fat. As in having a massive beer belly.

He looks more like a heavyweight boxer than a footballer.
