Sanchez has played 1 game (I don't think he even finished it) up top. You can't deny Lukaku's finishing or his goal scoring record. Put the right team around Lukaku and he will be fine.
The problem is that we have players like Lingard on the wing.
Put the opposition around him to his liking you mean. Young boys were a bit much for him. Toddlers next?

He's going to start the next game, isn't he? Crazy how crap he looks at the moment

No wonder he is struggling to score

Must be auditioning for the next Marvel movie as bad Hulk. Shocking to be playing in that condition. You can see he doesnt even run

Just showed my wife for a female opinion, she concurs the body is twice the size. Would love the journalists to ask Mourinho these questions at the presser

The picture on the left was when he exploded in the first half of last season. How can a professional footballer be allowed to gain so much to the point that he can't run? If this happened under Sir Alex or Pep, he get dropped until he become lean.

i dont know dude. When you watch him, you can see he doesnt run much and he blows up which suggests his fitness is down. When you compare the two photos it is obviously there is a difference in size. Someone suggested last night maybe he has a medical problem like a thyroid problem or something. Maybe he is taking some medication which causes an increase in weight. I remember Darren Fletcher hid his illness for a while. Something is not right there though

I still believe he can be a very good striker but he needs to get back in shape. But right now, it would be difficult for every striker under Jose

You should try using two pictures from the same angle. The one on the left is much more side profile, the one on the right has more of his cheek in it giving it a more rounded look. In the second photo his arm is raised higher which causes his shirt to lift, doesn't take a genius to see that some of that shirt isn't filled. I'm all for criticising Lukaku but at least have photos from identical positions and angles to get a better idea of his weight gain, the one on the left is naturally going to be more flattering due to the angle it's been taken from.

Considering Benteke went for 30m after a rubbish season for Liverpool, and prices exploded since then, and Lukaku has a much better record in general, he would sell for a good amount.

I suspect a very good side would still sign him.
Unlikely as he was a blockbuster signing and is on a horrendous wages that no mid table can afford so, we'll probably have to accept a lower fee to subsidize his wage at his new club.

I think the best possible scenario would be him going back to Everton at around £40m.

I'd take that in a heartbeat, My estimate is that he's on 200k a week which will significantly reduce the fee we'll get.

The new manager, if there is one, isn’t going to sell Lukaku. For those that bang on about not selling younger players, you look like hypocrites.

You mean people actually think those photos are an accurate representation of his weight gain? I thought people were just joking, ffs.

He is not the problem.

He isn't Kane class but he is a very good striker. I notice alot of times he peels off the CB and is ready for the tap in but not one of our players pick him out.
He's nowhere near Kane's class. Comparing them at this point would be insane.

He has missed chance after chance at the beginning of the season. He has little to no technical ability, can't hold the ball up to save his life. It is very clear that he is not upto the standards of a United striker. A 'good striker' simply won't cut it for us.

Watched his interview a while ago, my god, you would think be just came back after winning the Balon Dor, the way he speaks

We shouldn't be selling him. Get a new Manager in and see if he can wake Lukaku up first. 17/18 Lukaku was a useful player (ignoring his November slump).

Even last night he was pointing to his boots and saying pass to me there. Thank God no one took any notice of that.

Be careful, this thought process is not acceptable when talking about our new scapegoat!

I agree with you. Although technically he leaves alot to be desired he is a good finisher, works hard and is trying to improve - which is more than can be said for the majority of the players in this team right now.
The things in bold aren't true. He's not a good finisher as he misses many great easy chances; Lukaku would have many goals right now if he was that good at finishing; even last season people seem to forget that he was wasteful and costed us the Derby at OT. The only reason you seem to think that he is that good is the myth built around him when he was at lower club and was the best striker for those caliber of clubs. He scored more than 20 goals once in his entire career till now.

Lukaku is among the laziest players in this team, he can sprint or press occasionally but most of the times he's just walking in the pitch and asking for the ball at his feet. If he could bother run he'd create so many chances for himself as he has the pace and frame to trouble most CB. Lingard and Rashford are example of players who work hard.

And Lukaku hasn't improved in any area of his game. He talks about being a student of the game, maybe you have been fooled by that? If one thing, I think he's improved a talking.

I agree and have been saying the same the last years. He isn't a hard worker, he isn't even trying to fetch the ball properly when he's pressing. His so-called checking has got nothing to do with effective press, if he was playing pig in the middle with four other players he would in theory never get out of it, that's how bad he is. Fake pressing, just to look active, it never leads to anything, it's almost better if he saves up energy for actual attacks in our favor.

How is it scapegoating? The guy keeps talking off the pitch but doesn't back it on the pitch.
Probably because he’s been benched and injured recently.

Who’s the answer then, Rashford or Sanchez? Rashford couldn’t finish his dinner last night. If Lukaku missed those chances, there would be a pathetic “highlights” compilation on YouTube minutes after.

Scholes and Rio battering Lukaku last night and saying he can’t play football was embarrassing to watch. Especially when minutes later, they started banging on about how Rashford would feel if he saw Jose’s reaction to his miss and “what it would do for his confidence”.... Yeah cause I’m sure Lukaku turning on BT and hearing two United legends talk about how shite he is for 5 minutes does his confidence wonders. Hypocrites.

Lukaku and Rashford are both shite.

Fans are really scapegoating him now. It’s pathetic.

I honestly just think he is just receiving his fair share of the blame. Rashford, Lingard, Matic, etc. are also getting murdered for their recent performances.

The big difference is, that Lukaku talks a big game and then completely fails to deliver on the pitch. His recent interviews are just embarrasing when you consider how useless he is in games. I am rooting for him, but it is really difficult for me to see how we can compete for league with him on top. Hopefully he will prove me wrong!

What do you want them to say, he can play football?

I’ve seen 10 year olds with more control and skill on the ball than this man.

The level of abuse is getting silly, but on the other hand it is ridiculoud how he's dropped off from last year.
27 goals last season. This season, only 4 by the end of November. At that rate, he'll score less than 10.
