His current physique is similar to mine and I'm about as unfit as they come along after multiple surgeries over the past 2 years.

How the feck is he putting on so much weight despite playing professional football?

Let's be honest he doesn't at football to.a professional standard - he's looks like he's got shares in Greggs.

Zlatan scored 1 league goal more than Lukaku, strange to then suggest we went from 6th -2nd because of Lukaku?

Lukaku's returns in the Premier league are dreadful bar one season, his final one for Everton.

His Premier league returns to date are 17 goals, 15, 10, 18, 25 & 16. Meaning he provides and average of 16 premier league goals per season.

That is not the mark of a world class striker or great premier league forward.

His last goal at OT was now nearly 9 months ago, its shocking we have folks defending this.

Regardless of that, his all round game is nothing short of embarrassing. Jimmy Saville had a warmer more comforting touch than Lukaku! He offers us literally next to nothing when he is not scoring goals, cause he can't make something from nothing.
Some people just like to be devils advocate. It's clear he's not a top striker, never has been, most likely never will be. We need to upgrade in the summer. I'd take anything over £30m for him.

I don't get how he can bulk up so much, being a football player that too!

Most of it looks like muscle. It looks like he has added 10-15kgs of muscle in a short span, while performing so much cardio as well(football). I would love to know how he does that!

Lukaku touches the ball less on average (in the PL) than De Gea.

Marcus Rashford has a touch every 112 seconds (273 touches in total)
David De Gea has a touch every 162 seconds (434 touches in total)
Romelu Lukaku every 168 seconds (318 touches in total)

Unfortunately I can't compare that to any other strikers other than United ones as I haven't compiled stats for other clubs.

Icardi apparently scores a goal every 43 touches in Serie A
15 touches, 9 passes in the recent Milan derby but the game winning contribution
His movement is night and day though compared to Lukaku for us

A lot of free time.. guess he likes going to the gym. Genetics and he doesnt walk/run that much during a football match

Asked how it felt to be left out, he said: "I was like, 'oh wow, s***, it happened'. But I had a conversation with the coach about it.

"It was like ten minutes and from then on it opened something in myself, like a new fire to go and get what's mine."

Still waiting though
If only he played as well as he talks.

Yeah I was just comparing Lukaku to Kane. It's pretty interesting.

Lukaku has actually had more touches in the Oppositions Penalty Area on average, 1 touch every 891 seconds compared to Kanes 944 seconds. But Kane averages more touches in general, 1 touch every 137 seconds compared to Lukakus 168 seconds. Lukaku even creates more with better Key Pass stats and loses the ball less often, but Kane absolutely smashes him in everything else. Lukaku has only been fouled twice this season in the PL?!?? Kane... 29 times.

Funny that - lucky he got a 10 minuite talk; lucky boy. No media deposition by Jose unlike the other that hardly get a blink at training

Exactly, doesn't matter how many touches you have in the box, it's whether you stick it in the back of the net surely.

Oh so he actually felt like he was untouchable in the lineup? Lukaku isn't good enough to be the starter at a club that hope to fight for the title. He is a "fighting for top 4" caliber striker at most, and even then, just as a standard player and in no way a key player. The guy has such a deluded perception of himself it's ridiculous. Should take a long look at himself and learn his own qualities and weaknesses... might actually put in some competent performances.

analysis by Rio puts to bed all that @haram said in defense of Lukaku with regards to his performance against Palace

He was poor.

Man Utd 1:0 Young Boys
Had another decent headed chance tonight, but that first touch is getting worse, it's got the blast radius of Horishima right now.

After seeing it mentioned I'm never going to be able to look at him and not see Mark Henry again.

His football technique is donkey levels bad

Terrible pass by Fellaini too but im already happy to see Lukaku actually runs after the ball and uses those big muscles to win the ball!
Also had an assist... so one of his better games in a long time. Bad technique is just kinda expected now. :(

I hope Jose takes him with him wherever he goes. The minute he came on Rashford stopped missing chances

He is not the problem.

He isn't Kane class but he is a very good striker. I notice alot of times he peels off the CB and is ready for the tap in but not one of our players pick him out.

Be careful, this thought process is not acceptable when talking about our new scapegoat!

I agree with you. Although technically he leaves alot to be desired he is a good finisher, works hard and is trying to improve - which is more than can be said for the majority of the players in this team right now.

How is he not 'a' problem when we look disjointed and always a man short when he plays. That wasn't the case with Sanchez on top.

Sanchez has played 1 game (I don't think he even finished it) up top. You can't deny Lukaku's finishing or his goal scoring record. Put the right team around Lukaku and he will be fine.
The problem is that we have players like Lingard on the wing.
