I'm not going to lynch him here like others because he is a decent player when he's confident but even then is he capable of making a impact at this level ?
I dont think so.
His confidence is completely shot though.
I feel we're in a lose-lose situation with him.Drop him and I think that would dent his mentality and confidence even more but if we persist is he going to get back into a decent level for us ?

feck that drop him he's absolutely useless and harming us as the centre point of our attack.

He didn't buy himself. The club bought him. He isn't the right striker for us because we need a striker to create chances for themselves against clubs like Juve and he simply cant. However like I said, He was a bad signing as was Sanchez and as is fred proving to be so far. And these 3 didn't come cheap to add insult to injury.

I actually lost it when he started pointing at Pogba for not getting onto a weak flick. What a terrible performance.

That was so ridiculous Pogba should have headbutted him - can even do the basics then has the cheek to moan at other people.

He is in horrible form. I like him but he needs to be dropped, I'm just not sure who replaces him.

Must be great marking him though, you dont even need to tackle him, he does that himself.

Where do i start! He has no confidence at all in his game anymore compared to his Everton days. To me he’s overweight which is causing huge problems to his energy levels. A player who doesn’t know how to use his physique for his advantage compared to the likes of Fellaini who actually does well in that part of the game. There’s no movement no quality no nothing & is actually quite frustrating. Jose needs to bench him or sell him along with quite a few other players in this average team. Waste of space & position in which someone else could do much better.

How many league goals did he score from January to May last season? 5-6? He was just as awful last season (albeit with better confidence), people just didn’t see it as clear as now. He scores open headers and crowded tap-ins against relegation fodder, he has scored 1 in 14 against the top teams in England. Same with his international record. Tons of goals against pub teams and fodder struggling to qualify for tournaments, basically no goals against top teams. I think he scored against Croatia once, that’s about it. Super hat-trick against Gibraltar though, their postman-keeper and policeman-defender didn’t stand a chance.

From Jan to May he was much more involved and putting himself about. While that's not the caliber, he at least didn't kill the grass as much as he's been doing recently. It's easy to defend against him knowing he's the central focal point, yet his movement is too predictable. It's fine if he's dragging players wide as he's done before, but then now his service, touch or pass goes astray.

Maybe Alexis's use in the current team is of the central focal point forcing Martial and Rashford to play off him or float around with him. But hard to see Jose doing this, although something must be done between now and the summer.

His attitude stinks really. Just yesterday he was blaming the rest of the team for his goal drought and saying the Belgian players understand him better. Will be glad to see the back of him.

Anyone got a gif that awful first touch that flicks right over him right at the end of the game? It truly summed everything up about him.

What is going on with his physical development? He's turning into more of a lump every week. If you look at him at West Brom he was a beast but quite mobile, agile and a lot more fluid. We need rid of him to be quite honest.

Not a better footballer than Chris Smalling, and easily worse than the likes of John Stones and Sergio Ramos. Like Ramos is a whole two levels above him in technical ability. If he played every minute up front for United, I’d back him to do better than Lukaku for us.

Said when he signed that I saw him like a Chris Smalling who plays up front. They have very comparable levels of technique. In fact, I’d be very surprised if Ederson did not have superior technique to him, no cap!

“Oh, I’m gonna kill your son even more now. I was already going to kill him, but now I’m gonna destroy him. You’re gonna drive the boy home crying now.”

All talk, no action.

Just before that pass in the first half he almost fumbled the ball out of the pitch, nobody pressing him... would have been a good YouTube-video indeed. It’s time for Lukaku to lose at least five kilos, chill from the weights and watch a few videos about how to be a big striker like Dzeko or Zlatan. He has about 1% of Diego Costa and Carlos Tevez’ temperament and hunger to win every ball.

I would have loved for us to have gotten Edin Dzeko in the summer, wish he was five years younger.

It's baffling how a player who performed at decent/good level for so long can become so shit. Still think, at least hope, that he can be useful to the club, but he needs to be benched for a prolonged period. He looks worse than the worst Rooney at the moment — and is completely incapable of a moment of magic.

The most blatant thing seeing that is,minor Mata, everyone runs into the centre.
Look how Juve's defensive shape gets more compact. Its impressive how they're all on the same wavelength. They know we lack width.

This attack has only one or two options, and both needed Lukaku to play the ball in room for Pogba on the first touch. If that happens, Pogba can find Lukaku on the right if the latter goes on a run between lines, or Pogba can fire from distance. Both wingers are out of play as they are caught out by their defenders tracking back.

We’lll never know though, as Lukaku isn’t smart enough to release that ball on the first touch as Juventus have a perfect line to work with one second later

Can we please get a gif compilation of his attempted touches throughout the game?

I legitimately don’t think our back room staff/Mourinho are watching his performances individually after the games. There’s no way any sound human being in that back room can watch him try to play football and think ‘oh yes he should definitely start next game’

Point to feet > ignored > moan at teammate

Point to feet > ball is passed to you > ball cannons off your hoof > moan at teammate.

Rinse, repeat. I cannot stand him.

Romelu Lukaku at full-time against Juventus. #MUNJUV #UCL

-

1 shot

0 shots on target

0 key passes

32 touches (fewest of any outfield player)

72.7% pass accuracy (worst of any player that started)

Don't know what game ya'll watching. Tonight, Lukaku was one of our best players. He did every thing a Striker is meant to do for his Team except score.

I think inorder for us to get the best out of Lukaku, Jose needs to build the team around him. I still believe in Lukaku
sarcasm

And the rest of the time is spent jogging around on the half way line. No desire to press the ball or run.

Feck, i bit.

Even in his first season, most of his goals were tap ins and headers, no moment of magic, or shots outside the box. No hold up play , also not capable of building up a move. Not his fault, we bought him, but when we first got him, I said he is not a good player, dont know why we payed 80mill for someone so useless, our transfer activity is so shit these days.
Spend way too much money on average players, who have no resale value.

He's such a weird player, his goal record is remarkable for someone who's so limited at football. How has a guy who can barely control a ball got that amount of goals in his career? I find him kinda fascinating, he's like really crap at football but still effective a lot of the time, something to admire about that. But overall yes totally not the right fit for us or good enough for when we want to be. Best off being a hero at a smaller club like Everton.
