Wasn't much movement pace, power, finishing or link up with Lukaku today, hasn't been for a long time. It's pretty clear that what you want to see is Lukaku

Oh and yeah, what's with these two account claims ?

Not sure why you are so desperate for Lukaku to play.
Well I’d say you’ve let your bias cloud some of your judgment. He was by no means great but he did hold up the ball and linked play alright today. It’s pretty obvious what Ole brought him on for and no what I want to see is what I believe is best for the team which is a front 3 of Martial, Lukaku and Rashford. The rest is just you and your alter ego that wants to see things that aren’t there which is ironic really.

Well technically he's not being dispossessed when it's his own rubbish touch or pass to nobody that does it.

Spot on. I do not need to see the whoscored when I saw the match. He was rubbish. Yes it was his bad control and his bad passing. When he passes it to a Spurs player I suppose technically he was not dispossessed.

More annoyed with his effort than his technical deficiencies today tbh. I didn't expect him to do much up top since Spurs were all over us and we barely got over the halfway line, but I did expect him to bust a gut like the rest of the team.

You still haven't elaborated on your two accounts claim.

Tragic to see him looking completely fecked 5 minutes after coming on

He looks a fish out of water in this ‘new’ United. We looked so fluid without him and then so laboured when he came on, that’s no coincidence. Just take £50m and get rid.

He is so underwhelming. But then you look at his dribble goal against Chelsea when he was at Everton, and you're like "is this really Lukaku?"

I really hope he is sold in the summer, our attack completely stagnates when he comes on.
We might as well be playing with 10 men out there

Added to that the guy was pointing fingers at his teammates.

He touched the ball 6 times. He came on and headed it straight out in the 72nd minute. 77th minute he headed a pass to Rashford. 80 min he did not bother jumping up for a high ball. 84th min he passed to a Spurs player. 86th min he got dispossessed by Toby. 88 min he headed to Pogba. 90 min he could not get his shot away. 90 min headed pass. 92 min Vertongen came from behind and dispossessed him. 93rd min he stood with his hands on his hip doing nothing as they played near him and attacked us.

So I do not know how he kept possession and there no was hold up play at all. So he did not help us at all.

When I saw the line-ups I was really glad that Rash started. And then my mind started thinking about how Lukaku would feel about Rash slowly taking over his role as a starter up front. Will he accept the truth that he is better for the team coming from the bench, or does he feel like he should always play as he's a genuine starter? I don't know, but he seemed to not care at all. Wouldn't chase the ball, wasn't on top of his feet for the revival of the ball. I was furious during the game.

Indeed, if we moved Lukaku on we could probably get a reasonably decent replacement for 1/4 of his wage packet. We probably won't have many suitors for Sanchez although I've not totally given up on him yet.

We've already got players at the club who could come into that front 3/ diamond as a Lukkaku replacement. Greenwood is banging on the door for a start, while Gones and Vhong are hungry for game time. Movement, good touches/ passes, dribbling and pace are perhaps the main qualities that are defining the attack of our team at the moment - Lukaku is only really showing pace in his recent games for us

He is currently a match day squad player and while I'm pleased he has got goals recently, he is the wrong player for the club at the moment. Cash in an look at signings in high priority positions

How can we get our money back

I was of the opinion that we give him until the end of the season, but a couple of poacher-like goals aside, he isnt fitting into our new style of play, while I thought today's performance was underwhelming for someone trying to win his place back. There are better options out there for us (internally and externally), so I'm of the opinion that we sell asap.

Others have mentioned Chelsea, while I think a foreign could be possible. Bayern is a bit of a stretch but they are looking at a Lendovski replacement, as could potentially PSG for Cavani (current financial restrictions may be an issue though). I could see him do well in an Italian club

Potentially a bit of an outside one, but West Ham could be coming into some money with player sales. That could be a good move for Rom as they are a club on the up

Listen, he was scoring goals for fun in his first season. He had pace, power and a decent first touch, he could play give and goes with Lingard and Pogba. If you go back to footage of his first season, you will also note that he was about 2 stone lighter? I would say that he is by no means finished at United. He just needs to get back to his proper match weight and work on his conditioning. Back in the day we used to have 4 great strikers fighting to be in the first 11. I'm happy with Lukaku and Sanchez as a plan B for now. Much happier than the hoof it up to Fellaini method that our last 3 managers used.

Too expensive to be a benchwarmer and i don't think he is happy to be one anyway , sooner or later we will have to get rid . Replace him with an experience striker in low wage who won't mind sitting on the bench. Don't compare his situation with Sanchez cause first, we got him by swapping with our benchwarmer, second he is 30 , past his prime and have massive wage which would ward off most other clubs

We could probably get £100m from Chelsea for him this month given how desperate they are.

Ultimately, I think Rashford and Sanchez are enough as number 9s, with Greenwood coming through as cover. Martial can also play there. Lukaku can go. Get a winger. Reckon we can even p/x him with Dortmund for Sancho. They really wanted Batshuayi, maybe they would be keen on Rom.

A striker like Tevez, Suarez or Costa at 26 would run around like a Terrier, getting into the defenders faces, engage in a bit of shithousery to break Spurs’s rhythm. For all of Lukaku’s talk about effort and character, I’ve never seen him express that sort of hustle when we are under the cosh.

Some made the comparison to Chicharito, saying he’s the better version, but the Chicharito that played for us under SAF would run all day, even if he is offside 9/10 of the time.
Would Ruud or RvP do that though? Every striker isn't the same. The problem with Lukaku is his all round play is mid table level.

The least he can do is replicate his effort in the cup game before, and hassle/press/follow the players carrying the ball.

But nope, let's watch the players pass him by, just jog and admire the good first touches they had when receiving and moving.

I like his efforts the game before, disappointing this time.

The lethargy really pissed me off too. No effort to press the opposition at all. He is not the sort of striker we need to move forward. We need someone technical.

Does he have any fans left on here? I dont know how anyone can defend what he did today. It was embarassing, a massive game with a crucial result on the line and he barely put any defensive work in or any pressing.

I genuinely think that Lukaku is what cost Mourinho his job, his obsession with him was odd.

I was just thinking about this. We should probably do it if they offer a little less than that too. Not that he isn't a good striker but I feel we can use that money more responsibly now. Rashford, Martial, Sanchez are all good strikers and if we need a target man we can push Pogba higher up or something. Lets put the money towards a right winger and a defender to balance the squad. We have Greenwood coming through as well. This might be the best opportunity to get rid of Lukaku. The bad thing is we will suffer a bit this season if we aren't able to do other transfers in January.

RvP was a snide little cnut when he played for Arsenal. Ruud wasn't the type to run the channel all day long but he wasn't averse to being 'cute' and rile up the opponents when needed.

A bit of gamemanship when under pressure is generally the trait of winners. I havent seen any elite striker past or present who does as little as Lukaku in big matches.

Warning to any player that wants to United. United will expose you!! Be it player or the manager, the expectations of the this Club are like none other in England. Only the most talented and big hearts may survive.

Came on and worked hard, had the ball fanged at him from all angles and tried to help the team by holding it up and bringing it into play which he did a bunch of times. Would like to see him do more with that one vs one chance but it wasn't to be, wasn't much support on at that stage of the game.

Juventus bought Higuain for 75m and then replaced him next year with Ronaldo for 100m. We need to be that kind of ruthless. I'm not saying we shouldn't give Lukaku a chance. But once the manager/board decide that he is not good enough, they shouldn't worry about the cost and replace him with a better player.

Lukaku would still be in demand in the summer. We could easily get atleast 50m for him. There are plenty of exciting forwards(wide and centre) in the market that we could sign for that amount. The style we are playing now should be our template. Any manager coming in should have a similar philosophy. This will help us in identying our targets better in the future.

Listen he only came on today so we can get martial off and drop Rashford into a defensive LW role. He would have never seen the pitch otherwise.

He was once again garbage. He’s even somehow lost the one thing he has always been good at which is running around like a headless chicken. Sell sell sell

He's just so big, looks like a bull running around on the pitch. He really needs to shed some weight

Utd have big expectations, this isint news.

You don’t need to be the most talented player, we have won lots of titles with players that are not world class - but they had dedication, a desire to win, teamwork and desire. That’s what I expect of a Utd player, that’s not Lukuku.

White text ?

It was a wretched cameo. He can barely move and has the touch of a sledgehammer. Keep him on the bench and get rid in the summer.

I hope Ole ripped him after that cameo. He can do so much more, yet he looked disinterested. Not good for him, shame because I like him as a character.

Let's see that mental toughness he talked so much under Mourinho now that he's no longer untouchable and he's now facing a fair competition. Let's see how he reacts watching the game from the bench.

We need to sell all the Mourinho's favorites, they aren't good enough. Fellaini, Lukaku and Matic need to be replaced as soon as possible.

Looks to be lacking confidence at the moment. Hopefully him and Fellani aren't in the same boat regarding the Mourinho sacking. If so, pretty sure Cheslea would match what we paid for him right about now...
