I hope Mihki, Herrera, Fellaini, Valencia, Rashford, Young and Matic will be watching this and trying to figure out how to give Lukaku a service.

Or you hope they will be told to ignore their positioning and shape at times and get a little bit more freedom by taking more risks and their forward runs.

A serial scorer of meaningless goals.
Yeah, that's what happens when you spend the majority of your career in teams like Everton, andrelecht, wba etc who are so bloody dominant in their leagues. So many games which are a walk in the park and won by half time due to the brilliance of teammates that you can just score one meaningless goal after another.

That is not the problem with players like Mkhi and Herrera.

To serve the ball on plate, 3 yards away from the goal?

I’ve just seen the goal from last night:lol::lol: scores from his attempt at a first touch. I’m a Lukaku fan but honestly it was just too funny.

It's sad how crappy service he has been getting for last one month. Just cross the ball to him and see him score.

Could say the same about Chicharito. A striker who is completely dependent on service is not extremely useful.

Really shocking some of the posts. This guy can score goals. We were crying out for this in the past few years. Real shame we don’t appreciate what we have. But as always results will speak louder than words on forums.

You put Lukaku in Chelsea's team or worse Man City's, he'll be scoring for fun. It's not like Gabriel Jesus or the current Aguero score from goals of their own doing, they score goals from being at the right place which Lukaku is. There's poor service and there's being able to string 2/3 passes from the midfield which we haven't been able to do. Hopefully Pogba's return can change that.

No idea how people don't get this most simple of points. Heck, I would rather my striker always times his runs properly and reads the game well enough to always be in the right position to score. That's the primary job of a striker really. And Lukaku does that really well when the others around him are doing their job. This mentality that a striker should drop into midfield and disturb the shape of the team like Rooney always did is not what we need if we aspire to go anywhere as a club.

Getting the goals again. Should be good for his overall form and confidence going into the weekend clash vs NUFC.

He always gets goals, but he needs a team who creates chances for him. Something we have failed to do horrible in the past 4 weeks or so

How is a goal meaningless?
Scoring a goal has meant that either your team or yourself has just bettered your opponent on the pitch.
Lukaku has done that a record number of times for his country.

Extrinsic factors like "match/goal importance/significance" are absolutely meaningless.

Rom is a beast. With the correct support around and behind him, he will be very successful here.

Give the man some service and see what he does. Not as if he's wasting them left right and centre, he just genuinely hasn't had many due to our negative approach in games such as Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea. This weekend should be a different story and hopefully he can notch one or two, even if they are off his bad first touch....

He's a class act and I'm standing by my ongoing 43 goals all comps prediction. Every striker goes through lean spells and Rom will bounce back in style soon enough.

It's possible if he plays in all games. But Zlatan will replace him in some cup and league games and Rom will do well to score 30+ in all compets.
