Lol, funny we were discussing whether he was the weak link in the team early on.

If only half of his energy and commitment transferred to the other players and to our listless manager on the touchline, we would be winning these games.
 
Looked like a Man Utd player. Can’t say that about most of the others can we?
 
Once again, one of our standout players. He is my Player of the season without a shadow of a doubt.
 
Easily our best player tonight, did the best he good and held it up well, but the 3 confused players behind him offered little support most of the time.
 
On a personal note, I felt for him again. What's he supposed to do with that nonsense going on behind him?

Team related matters I'm concerned for one thing. Why is Lukaku are most dangerous creative player? I want him scoring goals, not the only players (aside from maybe Rashford) who can dribble through defenders?
 
Missed a few chances before finally getting his goal. Has a great attitude and never stops running

Some of his turns in the first half where he got dispossessed because he pretty much has zero awareness...Just the defender poking the ball away because Lukaku thinks he has half an our alone on the pitch. He's a player that goes from mind numbingly daft things, failing to control the simplest pass, failing to scoring from 5 yards out, to hammering one in on the volley while running towards goal, or superbly controlling a long ball before running past 4 Chelsea defenders and almost scoring. The variations in his technique is something to worry about, not praise. He can want it as much as he likes, but there's very little about him that gives the impression that he should be first choice at a club like United.

You're talking shit mate. Sorry.

He and Bailly were the only two players to show any heart and drive today. Lukaku was our best forward player and in general played positively.

No blame on him tonight.

People said I talked shit about Mkhi as well.

It's got nothing to do with x amount of heart and drive, we've built our team around a player who varies far too much in his performances. The fact that he's now suddenly being praised for his hold up play, after playing the majority of the season with the first touch of a brick wall and the ball bouncing off him, is somewhat bizarre. The arguments are extremely similar to what the scousers were arguing over ref Benteke..

He’s currently our best player is every aspect. What a turn of events.

The heart, determination, drive, strength are all characteristics he’s now showcasing to endear himself to the Old Trafford faithful. However, the pieces of shit surrounding him and stinking the place out are making his job 10x harder than necessary.

Salute to you Rom, on an individual level you’ve turned it around. It’s a shame the others can’t apply themselves in a similar manner.

I'm also not going to take a wager with some one I'm never going to meet on the internet. You need to go to Specsavers as Lukaku has been one of our best players of late and certainly doesn't deserve any stick from tonight.

You're the only person complaining about him when there was a pitch full of dross along side him this evening. Agenda.
 
Didn't rate him, slowly coming around, mostly because he has shown he has the heart for a fight. Doesn't matter how talented you are if the attitude is not there.

I've pretty much complained about him for the majority of the season due to how much his performances varies. Throwing around agenda just because you don't like whats being written is somewhat absurd.

How is it factually wrong ? As I've gladly admitted, one minute he's banging in a world class goal after smoothly controlling a difficult pass, and the next minute his first touch to a slow rolling pass is equivalent to Donald Trump shouting grab em by the pussy. The variations aren't a sign of class...More often than not he gets the basics wrong, more often than not his technique looks like Rooneys final days at the club. It should be the complete opposite
 
If everyone played with half of desire, we could be comfortably trough despite again poor and outdated tactics by JM. Loved him at times tonight, and felt bad for him at times..

Exactly. He had a poor patch and wasn’t good enough but he’s worked his cock off to improve and he’s shown he’s good enough to lead the line for United.

Agreed. Was quite skeptical at times, lately Rom proves me wrong. Good game from him today.

Because he's actually improved his all round game in his time at the club yet only you seem to see otherwise.

He was MOTM against Chelsea, had a hand in both goals against Liverpool and got the equilliser v Palace. He also scored tonight and was very positive in everything he did.

Read the thread. You're seeing something totally different than everyone else and that includes the pundits.
 
He should give his pal pogba a slap round the head. Maybe it will reboot pogbas brain from the infinite loop.
 
Best outfield player today. Having said that he should’ve buried that chance at 1-2. Should be a bit more clinical in front of goal. His overall game has massively improved tho, can’t really complain.

He's improved very little in terms of his all round game. He'll get some things right, several things wrong, his failure to control Rashfords cross in the first half is a decent example...And he wasn't very positive in everything he did, it's a weird claim, several time he gets dispossessed of the ball because he lacks awareness, same happened in the Liverpool match, gets the ball inside the box when its rolling towards the corner flag, he has no awareness of the situation so when he turns you have Lovren just stealing the ball straight from him. Same thing happening again and again, plenty of times he'll look up to cross, lose overview, defender just takes the ball and runs...Then there's the odd situation where he delivers a magnificent cross we score from.

I don't disagree that he was man of the match against Chelsea, plenty of times I've agreed that Fellaini has had the man of the match performance..

And using pundits as an argument is bizarre.
 
Another game another solid Lukaku performance. Like many have said though, guy is a fecking worker. it's hard to believe Everton fans labelled him as lazy in his time there. Even when his quality drops, there's no self pitying like a certain other player, no dropping of the head, just carries on going. Once he gets more and more rounded as a footballer and continues to utilize that natural strength, gonna be an absolute beast of a forward for us.
Goal number 29 for the season today too.
